I just received my MVP and was trying to connect it. Everything went well with the software install. However, when the MVP boots, it does not say "Contacting DHCP Server". It gives the message "Checking ethernet connectivity". It then goes to the "Contacting MediaMVP Bootserver" message and just sits there. I have checked my router and it does not appear to be getting a DHCP address from it. All that is listed is my 2 computers and my other wireless router. The MVP is cabled to my SMC router @ 100mbps.

I have made sure that the XP firewall is off.

My configuration is:

Dell Dimension 8250 (2.5ghz 256mb)
PVR150
Media MVP 1000
SMC Barricade router

and, of course, GBPVR

I just got the Dvico Fusion 5 USB HDTV device.

I installed it like Daphatty's config guide in the wiki (ofcourse, using the dvico USB ATSC device). It works in GBPVR only one time before it bluescreen's my test box. Reboot, go back into GBPVR, watch another channel, exit back to main menu, try to watch the same channel, get the same bluescreen. Bluescreen says driver irq not less or equal, referencing bluebird2.sys.

The Dvico app works fine, i can open and close it, change channels as much as i want, hasn't crashed yet.

Any ideas?

I use GBPVR, and I live in a place where we get a DirecTV feed on any one of a number of channels that don't receive OTA signals in the Los Angeles market (i.e. channels 3, 6,8,10, and 12) I cannot, for the life of me, configure GBPVR to get the feed from any of these CCTV channels--let alone schedule a recording from these channels. This is the setup that I am forced to abide by, hence I am unable to feed the DirecTV's reciever directly into my PC tuner. Does everyone understand what I am talking about? Can anyone help me out here? I did a search on this everywhere I could and it seems that I am the only person in the English speaking world with this problem. Is there any other free PVR software that would be better for my needs? Thanks! Battlestar Galactica is starting up again, and I don't want to have to go back to the VCR to watch it!

Where do you find the 2 column channelicon turn-on?
I find the "specialElements" section to showchannelicons true/false but not a selection for 2 columns.

My wife likes "simple", I like "cool" xguide looks like it should please us both.

sub can you trigger an event when the screensaver is activated/deactivated ?

i want to put the my messenger plugin into "away" mode when the screensaver kicks in.

or if there is already a way to find out when the screensaver starts/stops??

I have Dish Network and I was wondering if anyone knows how to multiple streams out of a single reciever? I know when I had cable (way back) I could split the cable and change to different channels on the different tvs.

I have never tried this with my Sat, so I am not sure if it works the same way. I would hate to buy multiple input cards if it will not work.

I'm running 95.16 and frequently am unable to clear the GBPVR screensaver on the MVP. When it's in this state, any key pressed on the remote causes the GBPVR logo to immediately jump to it's next location, and the screen saver remains. The only way I've found to get back to a menu is to power down and up the MVP.
I searched the forum and couldn't find any description of this problem.

Hi all I am new around here but not new to GBPVR. I actually posted a question on a problem I'm having with the latest release, but I put in the wrong spot and I think the Admin removed it. So, I'm going to repost it here. Any info you could provide will be most welcomed.

If you had the video archive plugin installed, you'll need to delete it from c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\plugins. It stops GB-PVR from starting.

Other plugins may also cause problems, so it may be worth moving all the plugin .dll files out of the plugins directory. If things start work again, then add your plugins back in one at a time.

I just found out that the way I way updating a time value (every second) was causing a memory leak.

I was updating the value by updating an arg of a named image.

This in turn caused a fairly large memory leak.

How should I be doing something like this??

As a work around I have isolated this element and am now using a drawstring method.

Trying to use my PVR 250 to tune into the cable system. I know the cable provides all the channels since my TV can tune into the cable signal. However when I use the tuning assistant to try to tune into the channels, while it stops all the time and notes a channel has been selected, the picture on the screen is just noise.

I select the right country (NZ) and cable spacings - does the tuning assistant then know to set the PVR 250 to PAL B/G? WinTV2000 has a selection for the PAL format and can tune into the channels okay
