I've been hankering after an MVP for the bedroom for a while but due the wife's phobia of wires and absolute refusal to have Cat 5 trailing round the house (thought it would be rather cool myself ) I was forced to look for another solution.
I know people are using the MVP via wifi but there are still various issues and we are a little away from being able to do this both easily and reliably although i'm sure this will become more realistic once MIMO and other faster technology starts to take hold.
I've had my eye on the following system for a few months and while initially they didn't have the speed (only 11Mbps tops) It seems they have now released a high speed variant (up to 85Mbps). It's not the chepest solution but could this be the holy grail for MVP users???
As with all boot-screen utilities, it is possible to stop Windows booting entirely but this is as safe as humanly possible. To ensure that your Windows will still restart safely after changing or restoring the default boot screen, go to My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery -> Settings. If you still have "Microsoft Windows XP" in the combo box at the top, everything should work fine next time you boot. You can even see how Slimm Boot-Logo works by editing the startup options file manually.
All we need now are some nice GB-PVR related boot screens...

i try all version of drivers and shutdown all media center & MediaMvp tasks
When using the web interface and clicking on Statistics, I receive the following well-hidden error along the top of the page:
Quote:System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at gbweb.Info.GetRecordingStatuses() in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\web\info.aspx.cs:line 181 at gbweb.Info.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\web\info.aspx.cs:line 64
I installed GB-PVR to my d drive in \Program Files\gb-pvr. Is there a quick fix for this? I have the latest version.

I am a newbie to GB-PVR. I am extremely impressed with the power that this program and its plugins wield.
I am having an issue with DivX playback controls on my MediaMVP. When I use the FF control the video will pause and stutter on the current frame and then when I release the FF the video is actually advanced, the problem being that I can not monitor the advancement of the video given what I just described.
The bigger problems are:
(1) the REW function acts the same as the FF in ALL ways .. i.e., it actually advances the video forward instead of moving backward.
(2) the SKIP backward function doesn't do anything
(3) the SKIP forward function most often does nothing, but when it does it tends to start the video all over again
It should be noted that when I boot the MVP to the Happauge server software (the latest non-BETA release) the DivX functionality is flawless, so I would not consider the issues described above a limitation of the hardware.
I'm suspecting that this has to due with the on the fly conversion routine used by GB-PVR. If my suspicion is correct is there anyway I could substitute the Happauge "convert" program in place of the GB-PVR convert routine ... at least until the GB-PVR version is perfected?
If my suspicion, on the other hand, is incorrect ... any other ideas on what I can do to get these navigation controls to function correctly?
I hadn't had this error in a long time...happened 2x tonight...any ideas? Happens while watching in TS, and at the show change. Other shows have changed time just fine.

I noticed that you can update the EPG from the taskbar icon. Is there a way to update the EPG from the MVP? I'd love to be able to click on a button in the menu and have the EPG update run.
