  Hauppauge remote problem
Posted by: hardrinseron - 2005-09-24, 08:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi,
I've just reinstalled my machine from scratch and put the latest version of gbpvr on. Its working fine apart from the remote. It mostly works ok except for certain buttons like ffwd, rwd, skip buttons and mute. I have the 34 and 45 button hauppauge remote and the same buttons refuse to work on either. I've tried doing the fix and restarting the ir but it still doesnt work.
Can you suggest anything else i can try?
cheers
Daz

  PVR350 FM & s-video capture at same time?
Posted by: bgowland - 2005-09-24, 07:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I know that when the 350 is recording/playing a TV channel, the FM tuner can't be used (and vice-versa). Is it possible to use the FM tuner when capturing from S-video input though?

What I'd like to do is dedicate my 350 to capture S-video only, to archive a couple of hundred hours of VHS tapes. It would be cool if the FM radio would work at the same time.

Cheers,
Brian

  How Crisp Should the Video be for a TV Card ?
Posted by: jdeeze - 2005-09-24, 07:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Another noob question, but here goes. I have had my Hauppauge 150 for almost 2 months and I have no complaints. Howveer I wanted to know how good a picture quality should you get. I have digital cable and on the tv it is flawlessly crisp[. On the Tv card it is good, but not the same as directly running into the tv. Is this the standard or are their tweks that should allow me to get live and recorded video at almost perfect quality ?

  Problem with MCE500 FM Radio
Posted by: Kevl - 2005-09-24, 06:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Hi

Have been trying to get FM radio to work with MCE500 dual tuner card.

Have tried setting Tuner1 to Hauppauge 500 and Tuner2 to Hauppauge 500 +FM

Have also tried the reverse of the above.

When scanning channels in FM radio the tunning bar just its at 87.5Mhz.

I have an ariel connected and would expect the bar to progress in frequency. It just sits there.

I have installed the Hauppauge MCE500 drivers and have devices for both tuner 1 and 2 in device manager. The devices are listed as WinTV PVR II (23xxx). Driver version is 2.0.30.23074. Read in forum that FM can be on either device so tried the options as above. Have also installed the Lame driver (and registered it).

Had only limited success with searching in forum as searching for "FM" gives no hits??

Any ideas?

Kev

  Dedicated Comskip support forum
Posted by: erik - 2005-09-24, 06:19 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

A dedicated Comskip support forum has been setup to offload the busy GBPVR server. Not that Comskip is generating heavy traffic at the moment though.
It can be found here

  Problem configuring Black Gold GDI
Posted by: Frazzle - 2005-09-24, 04:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I keep getting this meesage afterconfiguration:
"GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use. (Reason: Failed to locate configured capture device).

Going to the config.exe-log I find the following:
24/09/2005 16:01:37.609 ERROR [7] Error starting preview window: Failed to locate configured BDA capture device
24/09/2005 16:01:37.609 ERROR [7] at NativeUtilities.BDARecorder.StartRecording(String cardType, Int32 board, String filename, IntPtr hwnd, String tuningRequest, Int32 lnbLOF1, Int32 lnbSwitch, Int32 lnbLOF2, Int32 diseqc, Boolean powered, Boolean previewMode)
at NativeUtilities.BDARecorder.StartRecording(String cardType, Int32 board, String filename, IntPtr hwnd, String tuningRequest, Int32 lnbLOF1, Int32 lnbSwitch, Int32 lnbLOF2, Int32 diseqc, Boolean powered)
at xa2c78d1ab7eb027b.x501d1ffea8b79320.x692a1118e1794d77(Object xdf2e3583f942db7b, EventArgs xc4f45905cb1fc7ba)

SO I decided to check the BDA.ini file to find the settings for the BlackGold GDI card, here they are:

[Blockgold GDI]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=Genesis BDA Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=Genesis BDA Transport Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

When I go to the device manager, under "Sound, video game controllers" I find the following:
Audio Codecs
Black Gold Signature BDA TS Capture
Black Gold Signature CrossBar
Black Gold Signature InfraRed Decoder
Black Gold Signature Tv/Radio Tuner
Black Gold Signature Video Capture
C-Media AC97 Audio Device
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
MEDION (7134) WDM Video Capture
MEDION TV-TUNER 7134 MK2/3
Video Codecs

As you can see I have a factory fitted analogue tuner, the Medion device based on the Phillips SAA 7134 chipset, I hope this isn't interfering with anything.
I thought the issue was the fact that the BDA.ini file referred to a BDA driver that was named differently. So, I changed the BDA.ini file to refer to the Black Gold Signature BDA TS Capture driver I discovered by looking at the Device Manager.

Unfortunatley this didn't appear to work, and I got the same error message ( failed to locate capture device) can anyone help?

Also what is the device number in the BDA Device COnfiguration panel, is this the PCI slot number or just the device count of the Black Gold GDI card?

Any help is greatly appreciated, this is my first install of GB-PVR and I have searched the forums, please help I have worked on this for about 5 hours so far Sad

Thnaks in Advance.

Frazzle

Has anyone else configured the Black Gold GDI card to work with GB-PVR?

I have been told it is not officially supported but some have managed to get this device working. If you have gotten this device to work, please share your creative solution - it would be much appreciated.
