hey, i just bought a harmony remote, the 659 and i have usb-uirt.
I am having trouble getting this to controll my gbpvr... it turns the tv on and off fine, same the vcr.
and i found the last free version of girder on the internet somewhere.
do i have to use girder to get the 659 to control the pvr? i saw on the harmony remote website that it has gbpvr in the list of pvr and i added it to my device list for the remote.
I would like a means of seeing how much hard drive space my computer has left. I tried sysinfo but couldnt get it working with the current gbpvr version. Also a setting that I could enable that would confirm show deletes.
Does anybody else have problems navigating through your recordings using the xrecord plugin.
on my screen the first 6 recordings are displayed and I can use the right arrow to move through them, but then when I press the right arrow again nothing changes until I have pressed it three times and then the screen refreshes, but it has actually missed displaying three recordings. If I use the right arrow and position on the 6th recording displayed i.e the one in the bottom right corner of the display of 6 and then press the down arrow it refreshes the display immeadiatly but it still has missed 3 recordings (i.e an entire row of the display).
I can only find all my recordings by pressing right and up and down buttons a few times until I stumble upon the one I'm looking for.
I am using xrecord v40 but aways seem to have had this behaviour.
Iâve been having some problems with recording or on time shift. When I record the picture elongates vertically and along the bottom of the picture there are pixelated blocks. This seemed to of started when I changed the custom1 profile settings to very high for recoding a laserdisc from a SVHS source, this may or may not be anything to do with the problem as Iâve tried reinstalling the program so itâs back to defaults and this made no difference. The Live TV is ok though and recording through Powercinema is ok also.
I am excited about this software. It appears that considerable time and effort has gone into its devolpment. I also like the plug-ins / tweaks avaliable.
This leads me to my questions.
I have a NVidia Personal Cinema FX 5700 capture card. Do I need to un-install / dis-able the software that came with it? It seems that I would at least need to turn of the monitoring program for it.
Also, does anyone have any input on the Nvidia Remote and if / how it works.
Thanks again, and am looking forward to trying this out this weekend,
I just got my MVP and Hauppauge WinTV 500 in the mail today and I'll be setting up my PVR this weekend - or even tonight.
Since I'm using ZoneAlarm Pro with a Linksys firewall router, I needed to set up my LAN on a Static IP network instead of DHCP. I've tried looking for any posts here that talk about whether I can use the MVP and GBPVR with a Static IP network.
Is this possible? If so, are there any set up tips anyone can pass along?
I was wondering why TitanTV produced better guide info than zapit. Then I realized zaptools grabbed the extra info I liked (year, cast, ratings etc).
I ran zapimport successfully and was hoping the data would show up in the enhancedwebadmin (build 26). I restarted gbpvr and even ran UpdateEPG within GBPvr config. Alas, same old minimal data in both web/gbpvr guides.
I opened the mdb file, just to be sure, and it has lots of info so it's not that. Any ideas on how to get gbpvr to show that extra data in the database?
Just started using gbpvr after having so many problems with Media Portal, so far looks good.
I do have one initial problem with the recording which some one might be able to help me with. I am using a Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T digital TV card but when I try to record using MPEG using any of the BDA mux I get very bad files, choppy, jumpy, distorted etc. When I switch to microsoft tv mux everything is ok.
Let em preface this with the admission that I am a TOTAL Noob to the world of HTPC and PVRs . My issue is this, I use my zap2it account to update my EPG , after completion some channels are missing from GB-PVR TV Guide. I went to zap2 it and ensured that my account contained the missing channels in my profile, which indeed it did. Being a persistent individual , I deslected all entries in my Zap2it profile, and reselected only the few channels ( 4 WNBC, 5 WNYW and 7 WABC) that were missing initially, updated in GB-PVR and now the channels show ( 4, 5, and 7 ). Ok at this point modified my entries in Zap2it to reflect all channels i Receive with Dish Network and after udating EPG in GBPVR again the same 3 channels missing from TV Guide. The issue is I am not sure if this is a Zap2it issue or a GBPVR issue.
Let me thank all for their support in advance and apologize if I missed a similar post and have entered a duplicate.
OK, for the last 5 months I've been using each new release of gbpvr. It works great, except that about 15 of my channels are pure static. I know I can go and manually enter in the frequencies but it seems to cause crashing when there are too many manually tuned channels. I'm going to give it a try again, but I need someone to point me to a web site that lists channel frequencies for Canada. For the life of me I can't find one, and I've been searching for months. Please help, or offer some suggestions as to why I have so many poorly tuned channels. Thanks.
