anybody else seeing a flash of previous screen upon second pause in video on MVP? first pause looks fine,but second time it flashes either the guide screen or a black frame over the video [just like as if i set fully transparent off in config,but i haven't] and then goes transparent just like normal...very annoying visually..don't see any slowdowns or anything strange other than that.. after the upgrade to 94.8,then tried 94.12 with same results...so i did a fresh install of 94.12 and same thing, made sure the system was totally free of old files and settings and still same thing..went back to 93.10b and it works fine..no flashes and seemingly more stable..i know there were changes in the osd part in the 94.x releases so wondering if that has anything to do with it..
p.s. i tried all the dongles i could find and no difference..
[tho the older ones are a bit faster at getting rid of the blackframe]
tried the blue skin to be sure too..

Has anyone else noticed a fast clicking sound on FM Radio stations on the ATI 550 card (in my case TUL Theater 550 Pro)?
The clicking sound is about the same level as the music and is approx 2Hz and ends up distorting the music. The clicking comes and goes but is most noticable over the 1st minute of selecting a channel.
I've had this problem since day-1, across multiple gbpvr versions, however it is not present on MediaPortal, which proves the card and reception are ok. The fault is only present when using GBPVR.
Absolutely great to see the DVB EPG in the new release, works really well. It's nice to be able to use the OTA programme guide, as it provides much more complete programme information in the UK at least.
Would it be possible to utilise more of the features that the DVB stream provides? In particular:
Programme Aspect ratio - Information is provided in the EPG about the widescreen ratio in which a programme is broadcast. Could this be used to automatically set GB-PVR into the correct widescreen mode for that programme?
Logical Channel Numbers (LCNs) - It would be nice if GB-PVR automatically assigned each channel to its LCN, to save the user having to manually assign each one
Now and Next - The now and next programme information on DVB acts as a form of PDC. It is well used by broadcasters (again, in the UK at least) to provide information about the over-running of a programme
Finally, again related to a form of PDC, the EPG also provides information about a programme's current running status (including a handy "about to begin" flag, which is intended to indicate when a recorder should start recording) - could this be used to replace padding and ensure the whole programme is saved?
It seems a shame to use inferior methods of achieving these facilities, when the information is available in the DVB stream.
And finally, not forgetting DVB radio, that would be nice too
First I don't have the ConvertX device yet, currently I have a Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2.
if I am going to record the video in DivX format, how does the audio get recorded - in MPEG3?
Is it possible to set the steps for manual recording in less minutes, e.g. 5 minutes instead of 10 or maybe even in 1 minutes - maybe some plugin?
If I make a manual recording, I saw that gbpvr creates a subfolder in the Video-Folder called "My Manual Recordings" (maybe if I use EPG too, but then maybe another subfolder), I don't like this, is it possible to change this behaviour?
Using timeshifting mode in TV-Mode: How to I set, when I want to start playing back from timeshifting mode? The sense is normally that I press Pause and then Play if I am back or whatsoever...
If I use the Ctrl-K shortcut to record immediatally from LiveTV: How can I store that file permamently and how would I playback that file? One other thing to that shortcut: Is it possible to record instead of one series (or 1 hour) to record "endless", until I press stop?
I'm using a serial connection to change the channel on a DCT2524. I can get Girder to change the channel fine, but I can't seem to get GBPVR to communicate with Girder (v.3.3.10)
I enabled the Internet Event Server in Girder, allowed port 1024 in Windows Firewall exceptions, and set the channel changer in GBPVR to the Girder plugin (making sure the port and password matched).
Also, I'm using the .GML file from a web page that shows how to setup Girder with Snapstream. Is there a .GML file specifically for GBPVR?
Is there any way to run comskip from a dos prompt and not have to rename the mpg file?
for instance now that comskip is tuned just right I want to run it on some recordings that were not processed by the postprocessing.bat file.
But if I type: comskip The Beast_20050918_13001630.mpg I get and error becasue comskip looks at "The" and says its not a valid mpg file.
this also happens if I type comskip "The Beast_20050918_13001630".mpg or any other variation.
so I just rename it Beast_20050918_13001630.mpg and it works ok.
I have a lot of recordings so I hoped to find a way not to have to renname them all.
OK, wanted to test the transcode to WMV... I got a boatload of profiles to choose from, but aside from the ones that say 28.8Kbps, etc... I have no idea what they are.
Where are they defined in Windows, and how can I check out what those profiles are?
Not so much of a change to the software, just an XML file that will list of the CityLink Wellington webcams.
Only thing is, I've got no hosting space to put it on. I tried in the RssReader plugin configuration to add it with file://c:/webcam.xml but it doesn't seem to like it.
If you have the GBPVR web site unlocked then you should be able to add it on there.

I'd like to see an optio for DVD's to auto Scale (Much like Media Portal does). This feature would make it so much nicer to watch DVD's, and a lot simpler.
Ideally (for me at least)
DVD's - Auto-Scale to the scale that's on the DVD.
Mpeg/Recordings - Full Screen.
but making it selectable in the config app would be ideal so others can choose what they want.
FWIW: I've been using GBPVR for quite while now and have tried a lot of the others (MediaPortal, MythTV, Freevo) and by far this is the most stable, feature rich application for Windows I've seen
