I am using Windows XP home edition for my PVR and I have a wireless adapter that I am using to keep my EPG updated. I can log on to my router and gain access to the internet with no problems and I stay connected for hours. However, at some point, I always lose my internet connection? Windows tells me I am still connected, but if I try and connect to anything on the internet, I get a message that I have NO internet access. I can log off and back on and still nothing. The only way I can re-gain access is by re-booting... then everything works great for a couple of hours or so until the same thing happens again.

I have deleted all of the drivers and software for the adapater and network connection and re-installed them again and again to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas? I did see something in the help section of XP that indicated this might be a problem with XP, but I downloaded the SPs and installed them and it did not help? I'm stumped.

I think the problem might be with your router settings - it might try and renew the assigned ip address every few hours. The ip address lease time assigned by the router should ideally be set to "forever". I do not know if this is the problem with your setup, but you could look into that.

I changed that setting and same thing... I stay connected for a few hours but then lose the connection. I don't actually lose the router connection, just the internet connection. It must be somethng in Win XP!!
