I tried recording 5 shows at once just to see that it all works. Oddly enough, 4 recorded but the Recordings tab only shows that 1 did, saying "Recording service not running at recording time". The directory shows no problems at all with the 4 that did record.
Another oddity is that I can't create logs. Seems no logs are created in the data directory.
I have been trouble trying to format my question, and where would be the best place to ask. Using Windows 10, MyHDHomerun Duo connect, along with NextPVR, and Kodi.
Recently a broadcast channel nearby (KWKB) has changed stations/ from 2 channels to 5. When using scanning MyHDHomerun to scan the channels, (20.1 KWKB-TV; 20.2 KWKB-TV; 20.3 KWKB-TV; 20.4 KWKB-TV; 20.5 KWKB-TV; 20.6 KWKB-TV), and basically looking like they are all the same channel (the stations are actually 20.1: Escape; 20.2: Laff; 20.3: Grit; 20.4: Bounce TV; 20.5: Light TV
20.6: Infomercials). When I try these stations through the HDHomerun app, I am able to play all the channels.
When I scan the channels through NextPVR, the channels are not being found correctly. I am only able to play 20.1, and 20.2. and will 20.3, 20.4, 20.5 will not play at all, and therefore, I am only able to use 20.1 Escape, and 20.2 Laff through Kodi), I was not sure if there is a something I am missing that will assist in identifying the channels separately. Again, I am sorry if this is confusing, as I have had trouble trying to formulate this question
Another anomaly from more testing with my tuners - well one at this stage.
If I chose to record a program that is currently airing, it goes red on the guide as expected, then I cancel that recording shortly after it goes grey as expected.
If I then chose to watch that same program, It plays. Stopping it takes me back to the guide which is now highlighted green.
I can chose to watch program again, but I can't chose to record it again. There is a button to "Cancel Recording" but that does nothing.
I can't get rid of the green highlighting anymore displayed on the guide.
Addendum:deleting the recording, takes away the green highlighting on the guide and gives back control to record or watch the program.

Clients for use with NextPVR v5
nextpvr.exe
For Windows users, the familiar nextpvr.exe user interface is available. At this stage it can only be installed on Windows, and will only connect to a NextPVR server running on the same machine. It is preinstalled in the 'client' subdirectory of the Windows binaries.
nlite
nlite is a thin UI Client, which gets its user interface from the NextPVR backend. Currently we're only providing binaries for Windows. nlite for Windows can be downloaded from https://nextpvr.com/client.zip
Apple TV app
An Apple TV client is available for NextPVR on the Apple App Store. It requires tvOS 11 or above.
Android app
An Android client is available for NextPVR on the Google Play Store. It is compatible with phones, tables, and Android TV. It requires Android 5.1 or higher. https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...tpvr&hl=en
Kodi addon
The existing Kodi NextPVR addon is compatible with v5, but you'll need to have live streaming set to 'real time'. To get timeshift live tv working, you'll need an updated addon, which will be available soon.
knewc (pronounced "nuke")
This is a alternative Kodi NextPVR addon. It provides similar functionality to the Kodi NextPVR addon, but with an alternative interface. It also provides a UI Client mode, which lets users get the traditional NextPVR UI working in Kodi. Knewc is the new version / replacement for X-NEWA (which I broke by changing an API it depended on)
OK, more comic nerd discussion. I have created a container in Synology and am not sure what to do next. I've used Putty to log into my NAS and input:
docker run -d \
--volume /home/pi/config:/config \
--volume /home/pi/videos:/recordings \
--volume /home/pi/videos:/buffer \
--publish 8866:8866 \
nextpvr/nextpvr_amd64:latest
I get a Volume: command not found. So, I had 2 beers and came back to try and nerd this out. Youtube my arse off and still I just don't seem to get it. I'm going to have to send sub more
another donation for helping me get my nerd on!
Terminal in Synology doesn't seem to work at all.
Synology shows NPVR has been running for over 5 hours (yes, I've been trying almost that long before embarrassing myself) I can't login using port 8866.
Synology logs attached.
System: Unraid NAS V6.6.7 running with LibreELEC Linux Kernel version 4.13.20 on an Intel i7 processor, 16GB of Ram. Tuner: Hauppage WinTV-HVR-2210 PCIe card, Dual Tuners on Terrestrial Antenna - Waikato NZ Region (Te-Aroha Transmitter).
Can watch live TV no problem, but recording creates the folder and a file but is 0 bytes in length.
Stream fails to start when trying to watch it which makes sense.
I'm testing an add-on under Kodi 19 for compatibility with Python 3. Your current client is incompatible with version 19. Do you have a basic PVR add-on that is compatible with Kodi version 19? I'm running nextPVR version 4.2.4 on my backend Windows server.
Symptom:
"Update EPG" - displays TV guide for the next 2 hours. After that "no show details"
EPG guide in Samsung TV (with the same OTA feed) shows data for next several days.
Solved: In HDhomerun app, changed BDA compatibility from "NextPVR" to "MediaPortal"
Live TV worked OK on the PC I am using as my V5 test server. The problem started when I plugged the disk into my V4 server and copied over the V4 config and database. Live TV plays for several minutes then stops. There are errors in the logs relating to the Live TV buffer. Logs enclosed. Live TV starts 16:29:02 and stops at 16:34:16.
The only way to get the disk back working in the V5 test server is to delete and reinstall V5, copy the original test server database over and run NextPVRServer.exe to regenerate the original working test server.
I have tried creating other directories for the TV buffer and changing permissions!
