old recording does not show anymore
Posted by: jui - 2004-06-21, 12:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi,

as I understand any recordings with an older version like .17 does not show up in the Recordings Submenu of a new installation (.18).

But I have a GBPVR recording with .17 that does not even show up in the Video submenu, where you are supposed to be able to play all of the older recordings as well. Instead the folder icon in the upper left corner has the heading "Video" and there is nothing else in the folder. If I select this "Video" thing, I jump up a folder as usual. So I can not play the file at all.

Greetings
Jui

MVP & GB-PVR Complete Newbie questions
Posted by: darrenkarp - 2004-06-21, 11:05 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - No Replies

Hi,

Great looking bit of software (although haven't got it working just yet...read on!Wink

I have one MVP with the idea of getting another 3 for the bedrooms. I will be building a new media server PC complete with a PVR-250 card.

Can this card replace my Tivo? I can't seem to get GB-PVR running, is there a 1-2-3 step guide for complete idiots like me? I have downloaded and run the XMLTV software but can't seem to find what it does with the XML file!

I have Sky TV can I assume that if someone upstairs pauses live TV then anyone else watching it will also be paused?

TIA
Darren

  Confirm deletion
Posted by: Mdou - 2004-06-21, 07:48 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Hi Sub,
Loving the 0.18 release - fantastic bit of software - especially love the choice of recording quality & the new 'flat blue' skin.

Simple request - can we have the option to set confirmations?
Mainly for when you are deleting a recording. A little dialog box saying are you sure Y/N - it's just to stop absent minded idots like me from deleting stuff.

I understand that this isn't everyones cup of tea so maybe the ability to set it via the config app?

Keep up the fantastic work. [Image: biggrin.gif]

  Avermedia M150
Posted by: captdoug - 2004-06-20, 08:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I recently bought the m150 card to replace an aging ATI PCI Wonder card. I knew I was going to have a hard time tying to find a software that would work with it since it was designed for Windows Media Edition. I've found a couple of programs that said the "Blackbird" card would work but so far the only thing I can get to work is SageTV. I installed GBPVR and all I get is a black window when I go to Live TV. Is there anything I need to do besides picking the M150 from the dropdown menu? I have .Net 1.1 installed running XP Pro and have the latest drivers from Avermedia's web site.

Newbie: Which Card for Sattelite TV?
Posted by: FloydDread - 2004-06-20, 08:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Just bought a MediaMVP and found your software which looks really great on the MVP!
But unfortunately, it seems that all the TV-Cards which work with gb-pvr have cable tuners and not satellite receivers build in.
Is there a supported satellite receiver card?

  FF/REV on LiveTV (PVR350)
Posted by: BerkA - 2004-06-20, 04:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Sub,
I'm only able to pause and play on LiveTV (w/PVR350). Is the REV/FF not implemented, or is this a problem specific to my setup?

  Winamp and DVB-S support
Posted by: simba - 2004-06-19, 11:02 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hi, I have installed GB-PVR for the first time now to get a preview of this program before I get my Xcard next monday and I must say, I'm impressed. After trying Showshifter, Myhtpc and Joveplayer I'm very impressed about the easy workarounds and lay-out. Because I don't have a TV card. (I have a ATI AIW9000 but don't use the TV) but a Hauppauge Nexus-S with CI/CAM for Canal+ etc. I hope GB-PVR will follow the trend like Showshifter and Joveplayer to put in DVB support. There is opensource from MyTheatre (DVBCore) so I want to put this feature on the Wishlist.

There is still another BIG wish, getting use of MP3Pro... I use Winamp for many years with the Pro plug-in so it would be great for me to get it running under GB-PVR.
Maybe there is a workaround to get Winamp in the background working within GB-PVR but I don't know yet how to do that.

Greetings from The Netherlands...

  v0.18L (aka take-two) available
Posted by: sub - 2004-06-19, 05:07 AM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (25)

I've just uploaded the new version to http://www.gbpvr.com/Setup018l.exe

This release is effectively the same v0.18 release from a few days ago, with a few additional bug fixes.

The original v0.18 release included:

2004-6-15 v0.18
- Added a new major recorder plugin type. GO7007SB Recording Plugin can be used with with devices based on this WIS chipset to record directly to MPEG1/MPEG2/MPEG4/DivX. This plugin currently supports the Plextor PX-M402U and the generic WIS GO7007SB. Several new devices based on this chipset family will be release soon, and GB-PVR will add support for them as they are released.
- Added DVD playback for software playback (VMR/Overlay). Requires DVD player software (WinDVD, PowerDVD etc) to be installed. Like the XCard dvd player, during DVD playback "Blue/Ctrl-B" key will return to the DVD's main menu.  "Home/Menu/Stop" key will stop DVD playback and return to the main GB-PVR menu. During DVD playback "Green/Ctrl-G" key toggles closed caption information. Pause/Play/Skip/FF/RW are as you'd expect. DVDs can be played from the DVD menu button on the front screen, which plays the movie in your configured DVD drive, or from the video library if the DVD is on the hard drive. For movies ripped to the hard drive, make sure you retain the VIDEO_TS folder in the dirctory of the movie.
- You can now specify the recording quality, and any required pre/post padding directly when scheduling a recording.
- Implemented ring buffer to cap diskspace usage when watching livetv.
- added ShowChannelIcons setting in config.xml for those that dont like channel icons in the tv guide screen.
- Fixed several small bugs - double skip with MCE remote, DivX (DX50) playback on the XCard, occasional recording service startup problem, tuner selection for multi-tuner systems.
- Attempted work around for those wih PVR350's and certain chipset motherboards that experience hard lockups. Let me know how you get on.
- Added option in config.xml to disable channel icons in TV Guide.
- Improved color rendition on the MVP. Photos now look much better with the pictures plugin.
- Added support for favourite channels. When watching live tv, CH UP and CH DOWN will cycle through the favorites. Mini guide (Ctrl-G or GREEN button) still lets you easily get to the rest of the channels if you need to.
- Added support for multiple music and video directories for those with media files spread across multiple drives and directories.
- PVR USB2 now working correctly.
- Corrected MPEG1/2 video length determination on the Media MVP

The maintenance release v0.18L adds the following:

2004-6-19 v0.18l (maintenance release)
- Fixed an unhandled exception when setting up a capture source. This occurred when trying to auto detect if the system had a GO7007SB device attached, and was stop many users from being able to set up Zap2it etc.
- You can now specify the audio decoder and audio renderer to use for video and DVD playback.
- Fixed a bug that would sometimes stop you from returning to nornmal play speed after FF/RW in a DVD
- Fixed an error with video playback after initially using net radio. Overlay and XCard both had this problem, and have been fixed.
- Fixed a bug with the Live TV ring buffer on the PVR350.
- Fixed a bug that was causing the pre/post padding not to be applied to recording times.
- The CH+/- on an MCE remote now does page up/page down.
- Fixed error parsing song name from Shoutcast if it contained an apostrophe.
- Cleaned up painting on PC monitor whilst video is playing on the XCard.
- Now gracefully handling requests from the MVP for video data after the LiveTV stream had stopped recording. Sometimes this was causing the MVP to crash when changing channels.
- Zap2it sign up code is now shown in a textbox so you can cut and paste.

  Video, Music and Recodings sorted?
Posted by: salbiani - 2004-06-18, 10:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem, but when ever I open any of the media folders with GBPVR the folders/file just seem to be in random order. Is there a way to sort them alphabetically or by creation data ... or better yet by both?

Thanks,
Scott

  Season Record Problem
Posted by: viperman789 - 2004-06-18, 04:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Does anyone else have a problem (starting with 0.17) where if 2 season records conflict with each other, when the second one starts up, the computer reboots?
