  Stuck failed recording
Posted by: glassvial - 2004-05-20, 09:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I have a recording that failed, in fact it seems most of my recordings after midnight fail anyway (gremlins, perhaps). Anyway, I was supposed to record this show at 3:30AM. It didn't record, and now it's stuck in the recordings list as "Failed" and won't delete. What do I do?

  Stuttering Live TV
Posted by: mvpaaagh - 2004-05-20, 07:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi SUB,
I have downloaded your latest beta software and am trying to set up my TV channels. I am living in Ireland but unfortuneately Ireland isn't listed as one of the supported countries. Undaunted I have tried dfiferent countries and managed to find most of my channels. However, live tv stutters along. Every two seconds or some there is a slight pause. Any thoughts as to why this might be? My tv card is a PVR250. If I can get this working on the PC I can then try my MVP. BTW my PC is a DELL with a 2.66GHz processor and 512MB RAM.
regards and thanks

Big thanks to SHS and Hauppauge
Posted by: sub - 2004-05-20, 06:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

I'd like to give a big thanks to both Hauppauge for supplying a new PVR350, and to SHS for arranging it for me. Without this replacement card, development was going to be very difficult.

This help is much appreciated. Thanks guys [Image: biggrin.gif]

Trouble getting m179 to work with GBPVR
Posted by: mikeg22 - 2004-05-20, 05:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Alright, next step...getting the capture card to work with GBPVR. I am going into the Configuration program (GBPVR's), going to "Capture Sources," Edit, Recording Source->Settings, and my Avermedia m179 is not listed as a "Capture Card Type." I tried picking m150, but that doesn't seem to work as I cannot watch Live TV in GBPVR (it says "Failed to communicate with the GBPVR Recording Service&quotWink. Any ideas? I thought the m179 was supported by default....

  Use with new Hauppauge protocol?
Posted by: Jason - 2004-05-20, 01:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Sub-

Looking at your latest release, the MVP server does not appear to work with the latest Hauppauge network protocols used. The latest internal beta 2.2.* simply reboots the MVP when any of the menu items are selected.

  Playback on MediaMVP
Posted by: colin - 2004-05-20, 01:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Now that I got this working i can hassle you with questions [Image: tounge.gif]

On playing back over MediaMVP does it read the file directly or can ffdshow be used on it? The colour is dark from the mediaMVP, or maybe my recordings are too low, but it would be cool with we can do post processing?

If not I'll see if i can turn up the brightness on my recordings without them looking all washed out,

Cheers,
Colin.

  Playback problems
Posted by: davisj36 - 2004-05-20, 12:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

Does anyone else have this problem: When after playing one file perfectly I stop it and go to start a second file and I just get a black screen. It looks like the file is playing but nothing shows up on the screen. I have to exit gb and restart the recording service. I'm using the 350pvr for my output and recording at the same time.

Other then that gb is wonderful!

  web scheduler bug? and requests
Posted by: CodeMonkey - 2004-05-20, 12:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Love it so far.

Bug:  I selected a program and then 'record season'  The box changed color on the guide but nothing got scheduled.  Scheduling a single episode works fine.

Requests:

1) Display the channel number along with the station identifier in the guide.  Something like:

8
WABC

Maybe make the number a slightly larger font?? (if there is room)

2) Display the description and episode info along with the program name up in the guide grid.  Save you from selecting the entry just to see that information.

3) When selecting a entry in the grid, make the entire grid square a 'hot spot' instead of just the text.

4) Make the number of rows to display before repeating the column headings configurable.

5) Add a option to display the channel logo's on the guide.

I'd have at it myself, but my only VS .NET box is down at the moment.

  Leadtek PVR2000
Posted by: JustMe - 2004-05-20, 06:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I've got an OEM Leadtek PVR2000 (no FM tuner) and haven't been able to get past the "failed to communicate with recording service" issue.

I beleive that the problem is that the OEM card is actually based on the nVidia MCE TV / DVxplore MPEG-2 chipset from LSI/C-Cube, and not the Conexant Blackbird like the retail version is.

I gather that this means it is not currently supported?

  XMLTV
Posted by: Kevlar_IIA - 2004-05-20, 06:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

When you have selected a XML-file in configuration and push the update button, does the data in the xml file get storde som where else(like in recording service)? Or does GBPVR look in the xml-file every time you go in to the guide? The reason why I ask is that I have a problem whit recording, it records 1 hour late all the time, in the XML file I got it all fixt, so I just need to know if I am going to have to push the update button every time to get a change in the EPG?
Cheers /Jonas
