  PVR350 Composite and TV-Tuner
Posted by: Tautamo - 2004-05-23, 09:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

i'm trying to configure both on my PVR350 card - composite input and tuner-input. I do this with 2 different capturing sources - one for tuner and one for the composite.
I've only enabled the epg-channels related to the capturing-sources in the profiles. But if i program something to be recorded, it's allways the compsite source, where the stream is captured form. What i've doing wrong?[Image: rock.gif]

Best regards
Tautamo

Can's get configuration app to work
Posted by: heirway - 2004-05-22, 10:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I am a real newbee so please excuse my ignorance and hope I am posting this in the correct area. I just dowloaded and installed the GB-PVR software but I cannot get the configuration screen to come up at all. Does anyone have any suggestions why it will not load on my PC.

  Video playback on MVPs
Posted by: jeffcora - 2004-05-22, 12:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I use GBPVR as the interface on MVP's and have never been able to reliably navigate through .mpg files. When I Fast forward (or rewind), the MVP displays the FFD symbol, but the picture just freezes and after about 5 secs returns back to the menu screens. When using skip, the video quite often jumps to a random place sometimes near to the end (50 minutes or so). The length of the video is often reported wrong as well.

Most of my mpgs are from video capture on a Hauppauge WinTV Express card and I get the same result on DVD's I've ripped. I thought at first that it was due to my slow machine, but I built a new one yesterday with the same result.

Should I expect for this to reliably work, or is it still work in progress? Would getting a card like the PVR350 help, or is that just for capture and direct TV output i.e. wouldn't help play back of mpgs on an MVP using GBPVR?

Any ideas or advice would be appreciated so I can start to use the Video options on this great looking app, and finally stop using the default MVP interface.

Cheers, Rob

failure to communicate with gbvr recording service
Posted by: r1base14 - 2004-05-22, 03:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hey all, I had no trouble setting up a previous version of GBPVR, but I downloaded the new version, installed and configured, started it up, clicked LiveTV and got the error message "Failure to communicate with GBOVR Recording Service. I have a Hauppauge 350 (and it's selected in the config). Any ideas?

  French support
Posted by: cyberbobjr - 2004-05-21, 08:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi,
i have a little pblm with GB-PVR and fine tuning frequency.
I have noticed that GB-PVR look to the TS0-0 registry key.
But in France, the code country is 33.

I have fine tuned my frequency with GotTv and copied the TS33-0 key into a TS0-0 key, but the fine frequency is not used !?!?

I have image but doesn't have sound [Image: sad.gif]

  Screensaver (MediaMVP)
Posted by: ecruos - 2004-05-21, 04:48 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Sub,

Given that the MediaMVP has such a terrible screensaver in idle and music mode, which seems virtually impossible to remove, don't you think we could do better?

Presumably if a GBPVR screensaver kicked in (after a minute with no rendering or video) pushing a black bitmap every few seconds, that would stop MVP's screen saver from kicking in (overriding it)... which has to be a good thing.

In Phase 2: I'm thinking of customisable screen saver plugins, maybe just an extention of the existing Plugin API, which GBPVR could kick off when the video is idle: we could then have people write basic animations, or a PicturesRotatorPlugin ;-)

Regards,

Ecruos

  Reminder for zap2it guide users
Posted by: CodeMonkey - 2004-05-21, 11:37 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I had forgotten to do this, so I thought I would post this reminder. If you are using the zap2it guide with GBPVR now, then there is no need to get the xmltv listings anymore. So don't forget to remove the scheduled task if you set one up to automatically get the xmltv listing [Image: smile.gif]

PVR 250 Roslyn Sound and Picture Problems
Posted by: slavefett - 2004-05-21, 10:44 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hello,

I really enjoy this program and would like to get it up and running properly. I have the TV Guide working fine and live tv also gives me a picture now. I need help with 2 problems please.

When I record something however, the picture is washed out. I cannot locate any video controls.

I have no sound. Since there is no sound out on the roslyn board, how can I get the sound to work? I have used Beyond TV and it had sound but the picture and interface I did not care for so I was turned to GBPVR by a friend of mine.

Thank You
Steven

duration, next programm and epg info
Posted by: dottore - 2004-05-21, 08:50 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

i don't know, if this has been discussed before, but i think it would be nice to not only see epg info of the actual programm in live-tv, but the next one too. this would be nice for mini-guide too.

at this point i would like to have a progress bar, which displays, how much of the current programm i have missed.

another point, which maybe a bug: i whatched a recorded movie. the progress bar was ok, but the duration field displayed 15 minutes. the movie had two hours!

these are only a few ideas of low priority, i think. keep it up!

  Problems getting it to work
Posted by: rmatthe - 2004-05-21, 03:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I received my card today and installed it (works with WinTV 2000)
Windows and Belarc see it as Hauppauge WinTV-PVR PCI II (Encoder-16). At least that is the only driver it seems to want to install.

I am completely unable to get it up and going with gbpvr, but then again I am new [Image: smile.gif]
Please help
