  Strange XMLTV problem
Posted by: gplasky - 2004-03-28, 05:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (26)

For some reason today my guide listings are one hour early. A show for 1pm shows in the guide as starting at 12 noon. This just occurred today and was fine last night. I have 2 other programs that use this same xmltv data and the time in their guides are correct. Is your program compensating for Daylight Savings early? I've emptied and re-added the EPG and also redownloaded the xmltv data from the Internet again with no change. Any idea what the issue could be?

Couple of ideas from a PVR addict :)
Posted by: krutaw - 2004-03-27, 05:59 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (32)

Since there's coding sent (or even just the nearly black screen segue) between the video and the commercials, adding code to automatically detect and remove the commercials would put this project above the (excuse the pun) Commercial clients available.

It's obviously possible, since the MythTV client is able to automatically detect them, and would be a heck of a feather in the cap of GBPVR.

Also, adding some sort of client functionality to allow for multiple machines in the home to share the same data would rock.

  XMLTV - autoupdate ?
Posted by: chuckyt - 2004-03-26, 12:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi Sub,
Is there a way to automatically update the EPG data from a XMLTV source. I am manually updating it from the config app, but it would be better to have it automatically scheduled.
I presume there is a way.

  full screen display graphic glitch
Posted by: chuckyt - 2004-03-25, 01:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

build .14
when choosing full screen display on VGA, with taskbar set to autohide, a small section of the desktop is left at the top of the screen ( only about 50 mm at a screen resolution of 1024x768 )

doesn't affect performance at all, only graphic.

TV out but OSD off ?
Posted by: chuckyt - 2004-03-25, 12:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi Sub,
Is there a  way to turn the OSD off but still have the video going out to the PVR350 ?
As I have only been able to get GBPVR to work reliably with it running on the local screen, where it works really well. I still want to watch the video on the TV, but can handle having the GUI control on the VGAscreen.
so the desire is ..

TV out - video only
Vga - no local video, but controls, information about playback, resume etc, EPG.

This is sort of a middle ground, but acceptable until we an work out why some cards are working fine with the OSD and others not.
BTW, SAGE 2.0 has the same issue - some users are having a fine time, others cant get it work at all.

thanks

Chuck

  Problem with "GB-PVR Recording Service"
Posted by: DarthVidar - 2004-03-24, 11:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Re installed GB-PVR again due to nonworking "GB-PVR Recording service".
This didnt help... (did reboot).

Is there a way to register this service "manually" to fix this service installation.
The service doesn't list under "Services" in Control Panel either.. [Image: sad.gif]

Have installed .net v1.1 runtime and such...

Any ideas anyone?
WinXP Eng, SP1, "Complete windows update", Hauppage PVR 2 USB. Athlon 1,2G, 1G Mem, xxxGB storage, etc.

GB-PVR forcing suspend mode after 5 min.?
Posted by: kiskadee - 2004-03-24, 03:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I have GB-PVR 0.14 installed, but don't use it currently. My computer goes to suspend mode after 5 minutes regardless what I configured in the control panel.

So my question: Does GB-PVR force the computer to enter the suspend mode?

  could not start GB-PVR application
Posted by: findus1975 - 2004-03-23, 04:18 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I`ve just installed the latest GB-PVR application, but I could not start it (the same with the configuartion application). My computer is a Pentium 4 with WIndows XP an 512 MB Ram and Haupauge PVR 350. The error message i receive is: general apllication error and a code. Any idea, what the problem could be. The apllications, delivered with the Haupauge video card works all fine.

Regards
Dieter
