Hi,

after installing the upgrade to DirectX 9.0b on Win XP the IR remote control does not work correctly anymore. The up/down arrow keys of the standard Hauppauge ir rc do not do their job anymore.

Has anyone seen similar? I fortunately could go back a step and deinstall the new Direct X version.

I've pretty much finished my diskspace plugin, I went on holiday which rather stoped development for a while but got back to it at the weekend. I'm using it OK but I'm sure others will be able to break it for me

Sub, you talked about supporting a method NeedsRegularRendering(), did you add suport for this and if so, is diskspace the kind of thing it ought to be used for and how often does it get called. I think it would be good to see your diskspace going down if a recording is taking place, an update once per minute would probably be enough.

I've been reading the posts about other plugins and I'm gonna do a bit more work on making it cope if skin files dont exist but then it will be ready for others to use. Some time later this week hopefully.

Shall I email to you sub so that it can go onto your site?

I cannot get the Weather Plugin in config app to "check". Did not work for me in .15e or .16.

Weather plugin zip was unzipped to "\program files\devnz\GBPVR\" and the weatherplugin.dll ended up in the "\program files\devnz\GBPVR\plugins" directory.

BTW - .16 works great, fixed my issues with MediaMVP!

For a skin to support weather, you need to create a 'weather' subdir and make sure the following buttons are there:

Current
Map
Forecast
Main Menu

Weather button for the main menu.

Get the file names from the blue skin.

You don't need to worry about weather icons, they are skin-neutral.

Great work on .16, but I'm still having problems when playing on xcard

* Wrong aspect ratio on 16:9 screen
*DivX plays for abbout 5 -9 seconds (varies from file to file) and then stops, the counter keeps counting, the esc button works but no image, no network activity...

* OSD and MPG plays fine THANX

And about the new PlayAudioFile and PlayVideoFile, it doesn't really help me doing neither a DVD player plugin nor a CD player plugin. I need to stream the things... I'm not sure if I'll build any of these anyway now....

Could you check something for me. It looks like when you get in the Video and Music Library screens, the left and right buttons are in-active. This keeps you from navigating between the menus on the left of the screen and the file names on the right of the screen. Operation is the same in the PC and MVP clients.

Finally after much digging in cupboards to find the correct combinations of cables and a little vb.net to get the redrat3 working I now have a *fully* working GBPVR  

Just for the record I have the following hardware etc..
AMD Athlon XP2500+, 512MB PC2700, 2x160GB hdd
Hauppauge PVR350
ATI Radeon 9600SE
redrat3 usb infrared adaptor
PACE SkyMinibox
Response Video Sender / Receiver

The UK version of the PVR350 ships with a 9 pin din to scart connector which caused me a few problems. The 9 pin din end has a stereo jack on it which I was trying to use to ship the audio from the pvr350 to the sound card so that I got audio from both TV/Video and NetRadio/MP3. This did not work. I had to use the other 9pin din connector that has svideo, audio L+R and composite video outs. Take the audio L+R into a stereo jack (one cable which was hiding in the cupboard) and then into the line in of the sound card. Now take the line out of the sound card from stereo jack back to audio L+R (another cable which was hiding in the cupboard). Add that to the composite video out and convert back to scart (yup another cable!!!. Simple huh!!!!

Second issue - using the redrat3 out of the box should have been simple as they provide a command line exe to change channels. However, when I tried to run the darn thing I kept getting this error.... An unhandled exception of type 'System.Runtime.Serialization. SerializationException' occurred in mscorlib.dll Additional information: BinaryFormatter Version incompatibility. Expected Version 1.0. Received Version 1008738336.1684104552. Searched MSDN and all I could find was some garbage about IIS and webservices. So knocked up a little command line exe that simplay accepts the {channel} input from gbpvr and sends it onto the PAC box using ir signals stored in an xml file. I might get round to tidying it up enough to give to subs (work permitting this week!!

That's about it really - I added one more complication by sending the output round the house using Response Video Sender / Receiver. This sends the video and stereo sound to the receivers and allows the IR back to the transmitter. So set my all-in-one to emulate a hauppauge remote and viola control of gbpvr from all over the house.

I might be tempted to have a look at the Media MVP but I'm not sure how it handles live-TV etc. subs can you enlighten?

I have just installed version 16 and I now also have an OSD through my XCard. The screen is low resolution however, and/or the aspect ratio is wrong. Because when I look at the weather some information on the right side is missing.

I finally plugged my pvr250 into the cable and tried to watch live tv via gbpvr on this 700 mhz box and watching it on the monitor.  Unwatchable.  Like a broken up slideshow.  I was watching in window, not full screen mode.

How low do you can figure you can go and still watch tv?

I've seen MCE running on 500 mhz boxes OK.

What do I need to know to give it a try? I have a simple 'hello world' app that should work.
