hi, i just got gb-pvr setup on my windows machine because the hardware in my linux box doesnt get along with the pvr-350. so, windows will be responsible only for the scheduled recordings of programs, which will be saved remotely to the linux box (using NFS in microsoft unix services for windows).
everything seems to work great when run manually, i even wrote a client/server suite in perl to let me change channels over the network (liinux box has serial connection to the directv reciever).
the problem comes when i try to schedule a recording in gb-pvr, it refuses to record anything. looking in the wintvcap log, it claims it cannot find the path specified (and gives the full path). i can copy and paste this exact path and run wintvcap on the commandline and it records just fine. what gives?
here are some excerps from the wintvcap.log:
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">
4060 InitParams: Your lpCmdLine is "-c255 -board:1 -profile:DVD -startr:Y:\recordings\ExtremeSenses_1021.mpg"
4060 InitParams: Argument -board:1 -- OK
4060 InitParams: Found -c or -p argument "255" -- OK
4060 InitParams: Found -startr: argument "Y:\recordings\ExtremeSenses_1021.mpg" -- OK
4060 InitParams: Argument -limit:-1 -- OK
4060 InitParams: Argument -delay:0 -- OK
4060 InitParams: Argument -c255 -- OK

i can copy/paste the cmdline given here and when fed to wintvcap it works perfect.
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">
4060 BuidGraph: SaveWinTV2000 -- OK
4060 BuidGraph: mbstowcs(Y:\recordings\ExtremeSenses_1021.mpg) -- OK
4060 BuidGraph: fileSink->SetLength (4000000, -1, 120) -- OK
4060 BuidGraph: fileSink->SetMode(0) -- OK
4060 BuidGraph: fileSink->SetFileName() -- FAIL, (0x80070003) Win32: The system cannot find the path specified.

and there is the actual error.
Unfortunately I have been unable to use vmr7 or vmr9 for display. Â The overlay method produces some pretty unsatisfactory results.
My machine has the "old style" agp slot so I am limited as to the type of video card I can use. Â Right now I'm using an ATI Rage Fury with tv out and it doesn't seem to handle vmr.
Any suggestions on a fairly cheap card that will work with the older agp slots (Asus P3BF mobo)? Â It would have to have tv out because I don't use a monitor with this machine
Problem 1. Â I'm using Windows2k pro so I added the entries to the irremote.ini file manually but the remote still does not work with GBPVR.
Problem 2. Â It seems that the hauppauge remote uses the same frequency as my television. Â So even if I could get the remote to work It still wouldn't be very useful because it changes the tv as well.
Any way I can get around this?
Would I have the same problem If I bought some other remote?
Also what is the proper configuration for Channel Changer so that gbpvr uses the remote even if it is not running?
I just found GBPVR as an alternative to windows media center.
I installed a plain system on my VIA EPIA M Mainboard, all latest drivers and service packs for XP and hardware. After that, I installed GBPVR. But if I try to start it it crashes bringing me th german error message:
"Die Anwendung hat einen Ausnahmefehler verursacht, der nicht verarbeitet werden kann.
I'm trying to get GB-PVR up and running but I can't get hold of any TV schedules. Everything I have found so far has pointed to Ananova but their website says
"Sorry, but Ananova is no longer able to bring you TV listings."
Could someone point me in the direction of an alternative source for the UK version of the XML file please
I would like to use GB-PVR as a service using PVR-350 hardware only so another user can use same computer to browse internet or play games. I've succesfully installed and runned it as service with Firedaemon, but when it's a service I have no way to access the controls.
Is there any way Hauppauge IR-controller can have access to a service? It seems it works only if the GB-PVR window is visible and focused.
Another thing, why there is not Finland in direct record options? I've had lots of problems to tune channels... (Wintv and other PVR-software works fine)
I have a asus pundit with a pvr 350 in it. The SPDIF output is optical, but my TV only has a coaxial input. Before I spend $70 buying a converter from optical to coaxial, can someone tell me:
If I play a DVD/DivX throught the PVR using the composite-out in the PVR, the sound goes through the SPDIF ? or only through the Composite-out ?
or in another way: is there any way to output digital audio while using the hardware acceleration provided by the PVR?
Hope you understand my prob, and thanks for any help.
