  NPVR Leia Nightly (20180218)
Posted by: Confused - 2018-02-19, 12:55 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (6)

Hi,

Have been running NPVR for a few years now, so thanks very much for providing this Smile

To start with, it's all running perfectly in 17.6 with 4.0.4 for months, and am looking to run an alpha version of Kodi 18 so I can make use of one of the Amazon VOD add-on.

In preparation for this, I've updated NPVR to 4.0.5. This works just fine in Kodi 17.6 Smile

However, in Kodi 18 (20180218 nightly), when I try to tune to a channel, I get one of two things happening:

1) The channel plays, but there is no sound
2) If I stop and play the same channel, I get a "Tuner not found" message.

I've run the above tests with a completely fresh install of Kodi 18, where the only thing I've done is configure/enable NPVR so I don't believe there are any other add-ons interfering.

I've (hopefully) attached my Kodi log file, in case it helps at all.

Thanks,

Garry

Have NPVR automatically Update EPG more than once every 24 hours
Posted by: elstaci - 2018-02-18, 11:35 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

I was told that DVB/ATSC in the USA only updates six hours of programming. Is it possible to modify NPVR run a the "Update EPG" more than once every 24 hours in the settings under MISC2?

If NPVR can run the "Update EPG" every six hours, My EPG GUIDE will be complete all the time instead of having "No Shows" listed after six hours. I have to use both XMTV and DVB/ATSC to be able to receive both National (XMTV) and Local (DVB/ATSC) programming. I use only OTA programming.

Running ZapItXML Update EPG.bat every six hours won't do the trick since it won't be updated until NPVR runs Update EPG which is once a day.

  NexpPvr freeze on resume
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2018-02-18, 09:42 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (23)

Has anyone else experienced freeze on resume on a partially watched show? Does not happen every time, obviously nothing in the logs. I have tried different decoders, Cyberlink PDVD13, LAV and MS. Cyrrently using latest LAV both for H.264 and Mpeg.

unable to highlight channel in guide.
Posted by: fluffykeith - 2018-02-18, 08:54 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hi

Prior to pc re-install, I had TV guide for ITV without the warning and missing highlighted program. Now I have the warning about no permission for the channel use, I'm sure I had that before and somehow got it like the other channels like BBC1.
What is the magic I need to do?

  EPG is not populating fully
Posted by: officialdoughboy - 2018-02-18, 02:30 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I've been struggling with this one for the past month.

I've used NextPVR for the past 4 years with minimal problems. I used a HDHomerun HDHR (yes original) till last year when I did an upgrade to the HDHomerun Connect. I added the connect and remapped my channels and everything worked fine, EPG would populate fine. Last month I added a HDHomerun Prime. And that's where the problem starts.

I use zap2xml to get EPG data. Since the Connect is antenna and Prime is cable there are different sets of channels that doesn't overlap for everything. I went ahead and tried out 2 different accounts and seperated the XMLTV files into two seperate folders. I then went ahead and mapped my channels to whatever XMLTV file they needed. Then I emptied the EPG and did an update. The end result was half the EPG populating. In researching the issue I found some advise that said the issue might clear up in a day or two. So that's what I did I waited and still the issue persisted.

Next I thought maybe the issue was that I was using separate XMLTV files. So I did some more research and decided to try merging the XMLTV files using XMLTV GUI. I outputed the merged file to another folder and tried that. And same issue, only part of the guide gets updated. So as a last resort I tried using all three XMLTV files I got some interesting results and found a new problem.

1] I setup the first channel to my Cable XMLTV:

2] I set the next channel to Antenna XMLTV:

3] Another channel to Merged XMLTV:

4] Finally now a second channel to Antenna XMLTV:

5] I emptied and updated the EPG, started NextPVR and here is the result:

Can't access NPVR Web server at any port
Posted by: no1453 - 2018-02-18, 06:41 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (15)

I just downloaded, installed, and configured NextPVR on my WIndows 10x64 machine. I can watch live TV, the recording seems to work, but in my attempts to connect NPVR to Kodi, I found out I cannot even access the web interface through my browser on the same machine, I get "refused to connect".
In Settings->Clients, the box next to "Enable Web Server" is checked, the port is the standard 8866, but going to the web address "127.0.0.1:8866" results in "Refused to Connect" in Chrome.
I thought perhaps the port was already in use, but changing the port to various other values, 8282, 8867, 7799, and then trying to connect to that port through the browser results in the same problem, refused to connect.
I've made sure nrecord.exe, nextpvr.exe, and ndigitalhost.exe are all "allow"ed through my firewall (Norton Premier 360). Even tested with the firewall disabled, still no go. Hopefully my included logs might give some clue what's wrong. Thanks.

  New Problem - Zombie Recording
Posted by: andrewj - 2018-02-16, 07:15 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (75)

Hi,

I have either a new problem, or a new symptom of the issues which started after the recent move of BBC4.

Last night I attempted to record a program starting at 21:00. The recording started OK, as did several others in either overlapping slots or scheduled later. They all completed OK, but the BBC4 program never terminated properly, and was still "recording" at 6.30 this morning. A check on the NPVR device status didn't show anything active, but observing the recording directory over time I could see the last updated time changing and a very small amount of data being added (the channel is off the air at this time). The system reported the file as still open in NDigitalHost.exe.

Logs attached. I can see the recording starting at 20:57 on ndigitalhost-23.log. I can't see any obvious errors, but I can't see a final "Stop Host"... Nothing in the Windows event logs.

The program showed up properly in the guide, and the scheduled recording was from 20:57 to 22:04 as expected.

I have seen this problem once before, also from BBC4, so I do wonder if it something to do with the EPG data.

I manually restarted the NPVR recording service and the recording finally terminated allowing ongoing processing to proceed. For now I think I'll extend my "watcher" service to bounce the recording service manually at about 4am, but that's a work-around not a fix.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Andrew

  Deleting a keyword recording set.
Posted by: Rich A - 2018-02-15, 11:05 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I've checked the wiki and searched the posts in the forum and can't seem to find an answer.

How does one delete a keyword recording SET. By "set" I mean the actual keyword recording as it was originally set up. It seems that once a keyword recording is set up I can only delete the individual pending recordings one by one but never can delete the actual keyword "master" recording.

Example: I accidentally set up a keyword recording for the word "the". It finds every show with the word "the" in it. Maybe dozens or hundreds for example. I now need to actually fully delete that keyword recording setup. So it seems that I'm doomed to fill up my "recordings" list with hundreds of pending recordings and can't find a way to delete or stop that particular keyword recording.

Help ! Rich

  Web User Credentials
Posted by: crackulator - 2018-02-15, 09:35 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (8)

When attempting to access the web interface, I am prompted for credentials (sometimes), and cannot access the rest of the interface without providing them.

Where are these credentials set?

The only credentials I know I am providing to the system are the admin name and password on NextPVR Settings "Client" page, but these do not appear to be the credentials that are in force here.
