Would like to get some information on how to use this DLL or the website that supplies the data. I'm looking to use Powershell and see what I can do with extending the recording time of live TV. Also, I would also like to find out how NextEnd tells NextPVR to extend the stop time.
The removal today of C4 HD from the UK Freesat EPG dos not seem to be a problem as it is still being broadcast on the same mux. I just checked and I am using the Freeview HD EPG XML data but could just as easily set NextPVR to use the EPG data from the SD version of the channel.
I was thinking it would be nice to modify the details and layout of the screens. Essentially modifying the interface for my needs. Maybe something quick and easy for the home users or if they wanted to use the NPVR version.
I guess this request would be too big of a change and might be better to let KODI do this job. But to me KODI's interface is also not what I want to use. It's hard to get away from the simplicity and speed of the BEYONDTV interface. If I could emulate that in some ways that might get closer to what I was thinking of in a customizable interface.
I just got a Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD and unlike my WinTV-HVR-1265 it only shows up one time. The WinTV-HVR-1265 shows as two tuners in the device list. The quad only shows up once. I ran a test and I was able to record three shows at once using the quad but when I tried to access a fourth it told me there were no tuners available.
I've upgraded my channel lineup and, naturally, did a "Detect Channels" on the DCR-3250 web page. When I went to "Settings -> Devices" and scanned, NextPVR skipped all the DRM channels. Not good.
Is this new behavior? How do I get NextPVR to not do this?
This has been going on for awhile. At least for me anyways. If I watch Live TV on KODI with a weak tv signal it will either freeze or after awhile stop with an error "No Tuner Available" even if I have a Tuner available. If I switch to NPVR and watch the same weak station on Live TV, it shows, but of course with very bad reception or it will automatically close but it won't freeze or display the "No Tuner Available" error.
If I watch a recorded program that was recorded with a weak TV signal, it will start and than just close automatically when the recorded hits a no TV signal portion of the program or close if I try to advance it past the bad part of the recorded program.
Another problem while watching Recorded programs, if the signal was weak but good enough to watch normally, when I try to advance the Recorded video manually, it will automatically shut off and I need to restart the recorded program again. Sometimes a 30 minute Recording will show more than an hours worth of recording and as soon as I manually try to advance the video it automatically closes again. This normally happens when the TV signal becomes weak during the recording of the program.
Another problem when I try to manually advance the video (normally to skip past commercials) some recorded programs I need to shut down and restart at the point where I shut it down to manually again advance it to another point in the recording. Normally this happens when the progress bar on KODI goes from normal time usage (bar is halfway across during a 30 minute recorded program) to a bar that starts at the beginning. If you try to advance the video after this happens, it will shut down and you need to restart it again. Sometimes you might be able to restart and go beyond the last time it shut down and other times as soon as you advance the bar it shut down. I usually end up deleting the recordings if this happens.
I know it isn't NPVR that is causing the problem. This doesn't occur with NPVR. The recorded programs basically all start and are viewable no matter how bad the recording is and I am able to advance the video without it shutting down like KODI does.
KODI is a great program. But it does have issues with weak TV signals and recording.
I have an old but extremely good working Hauppauge two Tuner card with Windows 10 Pro (1709) with an Nvidia GTX 1070 card.

I upgraded to 4_0_5_171208 on Windows 10 and have a problem with the new TS readers. I've switched back to using the legacy for now.
I can watch from the HD Homerun using either default or legacy.
Tuning live TV using Hauppauge HD-PVR2 throws a MPEG 2 refused to hookup error on the black screen and then shows the NPVR Menu. Station sound continues.
I've tried choosing MPEG2 video decoder Main Concept (works in Legacy), ffdshow, lav, Microsoft, Arcsoft, ATI & PDC and get the same error.
2018-02-20 22:14:35.740 [DEBUG][1] TV Listings: Got event NO_VIDEO_RENDERER Your selected MPEG2 video decoder refused to hook up. Please try another decoder.
Not all TV shows will have Logo and/or Banner artwork. Life In Pieces and Super Girl do not have Banner artwork even though TheTVDB shows that they do have banner artwork. Those two shows also do not have Logo artwork but I don't know where the Log artwork comes from. I would guess that only about 85% of the my TV shows have Logo artwork and none have had Banner artwork.
I went into Settings => Artwork => Clear Cached Artwork. All services are enabled and download types are checked.
Could someone explain the rule(s) used by NextPVR for getting the artwork.
I have read other discussions and understand there is a distaste for the limited amount of guide data many stations in the US broadcast. It's a difference of thinking of the guide as a one-time file download versus a constantly updating stream.
My previous job was an engineer at a commercial TV station. I managed 4 PSIP servers that injected the guide data into the ATSC signal in 3 states. I no longer have a hand in these machines. I do still have an affection for this freely available data that stations broadcast.
Many stations do only put out 6 hours. In my TV market I see some doing 24 hours. The down side of putting out more hours, is the number of PIDs increase along with the data used. This means a smaller bit-rate available for video quality. It's small, but does have to be considered.
The PSIP system that is broadcast does allow stations to put out a very up to date guide. It can be tweaked and immediately affect the guide going out. Though most just download the guide from the guide data service and forget to modify it. There was a time when the FCC was pushing for stations to tie the PSIP system into their automation playlist. The plan was that if a program ran long (sports) the guide would always be current. Ultimately they backed off though. The technology wasn't there and it didn't help satellite and cable systems.
Personally, I don't have trouble with stations only putting out 6 hours of guide. When I sit down on the couch, I'm just trying to see what is on now or in the next few hours.
I have two thoughts that would improve the guide experience for those of us that use the free broadcast guide.
1) When a tuner is locked onto a broadcast signal, there should be some EIT and ETT tables present. Act a little surprised and go "wow, that is real guide data I'm seeing, I should grab a copy and do something with it in case somebody wants to see it." Again, think of ATSC guide as a constantly available and constantly updating live stream. Not a once a day file download. This is what the other (non-computer) TVs in my house do.
2) Give Nextpvr the option to update the guide more than once per day. Maybe there are implication because you need an available tuner that is not being watched or recorded. I do have 3 tuners though. Usually one is available.
