Hi again eveveryone I was hoping you could all help me out with a few little issues
1) Recording naming convention Eg S01E01 not working files just saved as dates I do have the setting enabled
2) how does the keep recordings setting work if I have set it too keep 5 recordings what happenes does it cancel newer recordings once the 5 limit is reached, or does it record newer eppisodes and delete older ones
3) if all my tuners were in use recording and someone selected to watch live tv on a different device what would happen would it give them an error or would it cancel a recording to allow them to watch live
I'm trying to receive cable on my University campus through QAM signal.
I've succeeded in getting working video on all channels. The problem is being able to switch from one channel to the other without getting an audio codec error.
Some of these channels seem to use AC3 audio, and the other half uses MPEG1. Only one will work at a time, no matter what combination of codecs I try. The codecs I have for each are:
Whichever combination I use, I'll get one of two messages on some channels:
"Missing audio? You dont have a MPEG1 decoder selected. You can fix this on the Settings->Decoders screen."
or
"Missing audio? You dont have a AC3 decoder selected. You can fix this on the Settings->Decoders screen."
Both work, but never together. Any advice on how to get the settings to play nice?
Does anyone know if it is possible to centrally control the channel which is displaying on all Kodi clients connected to nextpvr server? e.g I have a few clients connected and streaming live tv via the NextPVR addon and I want to change the channel for all clients remotely.
Hello, does everyone uses more than one technotrend tt-budget s2-4200 twin DVB-S Card. My System worked well with one of these cards but not after installing the second one. All 4 devices are listet and seems to work on channel-scanning but not for tive-tv or recording. Is there a knows issue? The log seems ok and if I remove one of the two card all functions are ok....
Hope someone uses the same card and perhaps more than one and can exchange his experience!
This is a minor problem but it is annoying. I use the default skin and after upgrading to 4.0.4 I notice the poster displays in the Video section have mostly disappeared. I have one folder that still displays the poster to the left of the nfo info but none of the others will do so. I know the poster is being downloaded as I can see it in the folder directory and it is displayed momentarily when the file starts to play. I tried all the settings I know of in NPVR and I've looked through config.xml but I'm not seeing anything that would cause this problem. All of my video files are downloaded from the net and are not recorded by me. I also know this is supposed to be a skin problem but I have no idea how to deal with it. This problem is occuring no matter what skin I select. Any ideas?
Very first post--ever. After automatic update by MS (08/29/17) following error message on NextPvr pops us: 'unable to communicate with recording service'.
When I click on Live TV on Kodi the following error message appears: Unable to start service: System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot start service NPVR Recording Service on computer '.'. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it

I confess to being technologically challenged. Please, any step-by-step instructions to rectify this problem would be truly appreciated .
I have had a few occurrences recently of unhandled exceptions while changing channels.
It happens when using the channel up or channel down button to go to the next channel, and I continue to get exceptions on each channel change.
If I stop playback and start again from the guide, or restart NPVR, I stop getting the exceptions, but the channel order is wrong - ie going one channel down from 416 is taking me to channel 710 (my highest channel no) instead of 415. Attempting to go up one channel from 415 lands me on channel 2.
The channel change order doesn't go back to normal until I restart the recording service.
Not sure if it's relevant but I've been watching IPTV channels every time this has happened.
Using version 4.0.4 (170820) on Windows 10.

Hi all , as the title says just wondering if nextpvr can record tv with the original airdate in the file name not sure how its done . i use mcebuddy to do its stuff but it says nextpvr need original airdate in the file name ..... this is what mcebuddy says :- If none of the above metadata extraction techniques work, MCEBuddy can also extract metadata (Showname and Original Broadcast Date and Time, which can then be used to get download additional metadata from the internet) from the filename when set in NextPVR/nPVR/SiliconDust DVR format:
SHOWNAME_AIRDATE_AIRTIME.<ext>
Using all the latest patches (I think) Most of the time trying to resume a recording causes NPVR to lock up with no remote control input - only thing to get out of it is a double mouse click then the NPVR is not responding message and killing the program.
The B version TSReader4 (Now in the latest installer) that you gave me did not have the problem only versions since then.
In the attached log I restarted the recording service and cleared the logs - went straight to the recording and tried to resume.
The file in use message appears to be incorrect - is that the problem? Nothing was using it.
