  Late night recordings failing
Posted by: moorman - 2017-08-05, 07:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I'm in UK and a big fan of NextPVR, but have been having a problem with late night recordings.

This is not new, but only just getting around to trying to find a solution.

I upgraded to 4.0.4, but it was also happening with 3.9.2. It worked fine earlier. I suspect it may be something outside NextPVR causing the issue. Win 10?

Does anyone have any idea please what might be causing it?

I'm running NextPVR on a Windows 10 machine with a TBS 6205 Quad DVB-T/T2 BDA Tuner card.

Recordings during the day work perfectly almost all of the time, but if I try to programme a show to record anytime between about 01:15am and about 04:00am it consistently fails.

It shows up in NPVR as having recorded fine, but the files are cut short or the picture is corrupted.

Shows programmed to start recording before that time but which run into it fail at the same time.

For example on Thursday I had set Grand Designs Australia to record from 01:05 - 02:25, and Grand Designs to record from 02:10 to 03:25.

The Grand Designs Australia file is only 1minute32 long and 22MB. Something has caused the recording process to cut the file short.

The Grand Designs file is 227MB long (still far too small) but the image is corrupted.

I suspect this could be a Windows 10 maintenance routine kicking in and hogging the processor, disrupting the recording, but I have no idea how to diagnose it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Logs attached.

Thanks for reading.

  Artwork Language Not sticky?
Posted by: jksmurf - 2017-08-05, 01:19 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

First up sub,

Thank you for the Artwork / Metadata while retaining Archive, in Recordings as well as Videos!

I note that the Artwork language is not sticky (this is an old glitch I think)?

One question, probably more for Martin than you, but I asked him as well, do I need Imagegrablite if I use the Artwork option i.e. I get as much metadata AND Artwork using the built-in function as his add-on?

Ta,

k.

Updated/corrected ini file for various main (8 or 9 multiplex) transmitters in UK
Posted by: martinu - 2017-08-04, 09:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I've done a spot check of various main transmitters (the ones that broadcast all 8 national multiplexes plus 1 local) and found quite a few that are missing COM7, COM8 and local. I've zipped the ini files up into one file. I might look at the others tomorrow, so watch this space.

The ones I've updated are:

Oxford
Sutton Coldfield
Crystal Palace
Hannington
Rowridge
Belmont

The implication of the changes that I'm making is that people will get another 26 channels (plus a few more if a local mux exists), so I'm surprised that people haven't been asking why they can't get those channels. It only relates to the main transmitters; others don't have (and AFAIK never will have) those muxes.

Also, I see that Rowridge has four different entries which represent the situation at different times. Since only the latest one is relevant today, I've taken the liberty of renaming it as "Rowridge" (as opposed to "Rowridge (Final)"). I suggest you delete all the others.

By the way, what's the policy in the ini file when a transmitter has some muxes on a small offset one side or the other of the nominal every-8MHz channel? Do you prefer the nominal frequency (and people need to enable offsets) or the actual frequency with the offset?

All the info is coming from the ukfree.tv site - I'm assuming that is accurate throughout since it is definitely accurate for my transmitter, Bilsdale.

Updated/corrected ini file for Emley Moor (UK) transmitter
Posted by: martinu - 2017-08-04, 06:41 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Having checked and corrected Bilsdale, I looked at another major transmitter in my area and found two multiplexes (COM7 and COM8) were missing, so people would be missing lots of channels. Here's the updated file.

Updated/corrected ini file for Bilsdale (UK) transmitter
Posted by: martinu - 2017-08-04, 06:22 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

As suggested by Graham in thread https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post516317, here's an updated ini file for the Tyne Tees / Bilsdale transmitter in the UK. I've removed the obsolete frequencies from before a big change in 2012. I've also added multiplex COM8 (aka Arqiva D) which had been omitted.

I am using zap2xml grabber pointed toward the tvguide and I am getting all channel info in the mapping bar however my guide is not using that info. I orginally had it pulling info from zapit. It seems like its looking for the old info because it now only has channel info for channels that zapit didnt have listed. i am attaching the logs dont know if they are any help.

  Conflict recording in latest version
Posted by: p37307 - 2017-08-04, 12:54 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Sub, re: the latest release, thanks for fixing the conflicts issue where they were going to the default folder instead of the assigned folder. Trouble now is I have too much free time on my hands not manually archiving from Default to desired folders. Smile
