Helping a friend setup a new NextPvr machine.
1. It is an i-3 with a intel skylake 530 hdmi connection to TV
2. Hauppuage 2250 OTA for recording ATSC TV shows
3. NextPvr is fully installed and recording /playing live TV
4. Using the FFDshow decoder Mpeg2.
5. Windows 10 looks normal and everything fits on the screen and is clear.
6. All tuner signal qualities are high and no issues recording live shows.
7. File sizes are the same size as ones on my working machine.
Problem
1. No matter which decoder I use the picture quality is poor and grainy with live TV, more like 480 than 720 or 1080
2. Recorded shows also play grainy using media player and Nextpvr internal player
3. Recorded videos are crystal clear with VLC, ruling out hardware
4. Almost like a dscaler is messed up somewhere.
I donât think it is an NextPVR problem since it has poor playback quality with other players, but am looking for some suggestions on how to trouble shoot.
Thanks
Would provide logs, but machine is 30 miles away.
Just setup Kodi & NextPVR for the first time on Windows 10. When I step NextPVR and HDHomeRun Prime, all my HDChannels show up. When I go into Kodi I load up the channels I only get to channel 422. I tried clrearing and re-downloading, but the result is the same.
Bonus Question: Any reason why only one Channel logo is showing up in NextPVR?
I have 4 DVB tuners for UK terrestrial and 2 DVBS2 tuners to pull in French TV from a couple of satellites for my wife, but after many years they have now encrypted the French channels on the 5W and 13E sats - or not necessarily encrypted but they now show as the attached picture on king of sat - I believe they are now multi streams whatever they are. It's possible one of the TBS card might pull in the multi streams but I suspect getting it to work with NPVR might be a different story.
Quote:TBS6903 is a Professional level digital satellite TV Tuner card with PCI Express interface. TBS6903 supports not only normal DVB-S2/DVB-S QPSK, 8PSK which is supported by normal satellite receivers, but also CCM, ACM, VCM, 16APSK, 32APSK, Multiple Transport Stream, Multiple Generic Stream, Combined Single Generic &Single TS, which most satellite receiving devices canât support. With use of dedicated TBS tools, those special streams can be captured. The two advanced DVB-S2/S tuners enable you to watch TV channel from one satellite transponder, while recording channels from different satellite transponders from another tuner at the same time.

I'm looking into alternatives and will research this "multi stream" thing - but the most secure route is probably to buy a French sat box when I'm over there at christmas and then add a capture device to the PC.
I've looked at Collossus, HDPVR etc... but don't really know what I'm getting into.....
Ideally I want - to capture hdmi output of sat box for live TV and recordings on my NPVR server and watch on Kodi clients & have npvr change channels which I assume means blasting?
Do I need to worry about copy protection over HDMI?
low profile PCIe would be best but USB would work.
Title pretty much says it all. I saw the upgrade to 3.9.2 and dutifully upgraded. It still records just fine; I can watch recordings via VLC and even through the Plex client on my Roku box. But I prefer the quicker and more direct controls of NextPVR's own 10-foot interface. After the upgrade, no matter what recorded program I try to watch, I always get an error window that says:
Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
Method not found: 'System.String NUtility.EPGEvent.get.Significance 0'
There are two buttons at the bottom of the error window, "Details" and "Continue." Clicking Continue just clears the error message. Details produces a list of information that may make sense to someone, but not me. Any ideas?
I had been running 3.8.3 without much trouble.
I installed 3.9.2 but immediately started having connection errors so I tried installing 3.8.3 on top of it. I have not been able to get it to run.
I installed everything, rebooted and tried installing 3.9.2 again from scratch but am getting Unable to start service during the install (screenshot attached). If i ignore the error, I can fire up NextPVR were I get audio but no video.

Kodi gets choppy audio and video
I tried to get my logs but I get a message that they are in use. If i try to stop the NPVRRecording Service I get a 1061 error.
This has probably been answered before but I couldn't find it.
I can see the NextPVR generated Guide, and am able to select channels, with the NextPVR Add-on for Kodi, But I cannot see the TV Guide when opening NextPVR.
I have tried emptying the EPG then rescanning, also refreshing the data from Kodi. Same result. I can see the Guide in Kodi, but not in the NextPVR window. How do I get it to show in NextPVR?
After a very long time between releases, I've attached a release a new version of USBUIRTSend.exe. This version adds learning capabilities.
I thought I'd long since lost this code, but rediscovered it when looking through my old GBPVR archive, and decided to release a new version. People still ask about it from time to time.
You can start by learning a remote with: USBUIRTSend.exe c:\temp\some-set-top-box-name learn Then test the blasting with: USBUIRTSend.exe c:\temp\some-set-top-box-name 123
I have been trying to set up my parents HTPC to stay awake for them while a recording is in progress, because they have a Harmony remote, so that when they press the Watch TV button it sends a signal to the TV and their HTPC. Which means if a recording is in progress it will go to sleep during the recording.
I found an old post here where someone mentions a program called smartpower. I installed it and tried using the âkeep PC awake when certain processes are runningâ option where I put NRecord down as the process. But it still couldn't keep windows from going to sleep while a recording was in progress.
Is there something I missed on this or is there another way that works. The PC is running Windows 10 if that has something to do with it and NextPVR 3.7.7.
I am looking for the Smart TV app (Samsung) as a direct download. I have rooted my Smart TV sets and would rather upload by FTP. This would circumvent uploadin it using the develop-account, which results in all user apps being deleted at that point.
Could you provide a download link for the app? I am not sure where the app downloader tool saves its temporary files.
Thanks
Guido
EDIT: I helped myself by uploading it to the TV set using the app loader, then downloading it via FTP. Now I have a complete set of all user apps, which I can upload en bloc to each TV
