  Help with pip freezing
Posted by: Leerph - 2016-12-04, 11:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Ok. So I got nextpvr set up. It plays perfectly using 1 stream. However when I try and use the pip feature it will play that stream fine for about 10 seconds and then the pip screen freezes. The main screen continues to play fine. I've tried different default codecs but no luck. I have 11 tuners total. A pair of ceton tuners and an HD homerun prime. Any ideas on how to get it working? Thanks.

  Cablecard compatibility
Posted by: WPH - 2016-12-04, 10:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Can anyone tell me which Cablecard is compatible with NextPVR? My cable provider encrypts all digital channels as of a few weeks ago. I want to go to Windows 10 in the near future and continue using NextPVR and whatever Cablecard that will work. Please help.

NEXTPVR Kodi connection lost...I know what the problem is, but how to solve it??
Posted by: rocky_mtn - 2016-12-04, 09:29 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (5)

So everything works flawlessly with regards to my NextPVR setup...until, I enable my VPN on my Kodi box. Essentially, because the set top kodi box is behind the VPN, it's IP address is "external" from my network and pointing NextPVR towards 192.168.1.127 no longer works because its an internal network address, which technically, Kodi is no longer a part of with the VPN running. I'm sure this has been covered before, I just had no idea how to search for my specific problem to be honest. I tried pointing the NextPVR client to my external public IP address but that didn't work either...maybe some sort of router config needs done to allow the external VPN address access to my PC on my network with the NAS attached? If there isn't an easy solution I'm just missing, then I'll just forget the VPN unless its needed at the time. It would be nice to have my VPN just startup when the Kodi box starts, but not if it's going to screw with my recordings. I'll just enable the VPN when needed, and leave it disabled otherwise. I REALLY hope this makes sense to someone and they have the perfect answer...thanks in advance folks.

  Install Kodi over working nextPVR??
Posted by: tomhilton1 - 2016-12-04, 04:05 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

I have a nice working copy of nextPVR, but I am thinking of installing Kodi and Exodus. Will installing these wreck my working nextPVR.
Is there a way to do it safely? PS I backed up my computer before I start.

  NextPVR and NAS support
Posted by: rosede - 2016-12-04, 02:47 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (27)

Any thought of supporting NAS storage in an upcoming release of NextPVR? I would really love to move my recorded storage to a NAS share. If I can do that, then I can move the entire installation to a device that is dedicated just to the PVR. Right now, I have to use a machine that has other things running on it. I've considered building a new machine just for the PVR, but I really don't want an actual machine, I am considering a mini-pc that has just an internal SSD card and the storage would be on my NAS device.

Thanks

Daryl

  Keeps accumulating temp files
Posted by: EiEiOhh - 2016-12-03, 03:25 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (8)

Windows 10
Kodi 16
NextPVR 3.9.2 feeding 5 TV on my network

Every so often I get a Windows message that I am running out of space on my hard drive.

My c:\temp folder gets loaded sometimes with up to 100 gigs of .ts files that I must delete manually.

Is there a setting that prevents those files from accumulating?

Thanks

  NLite Build
Posted by: sub - 2016-12-03, 01:55 AM - Forum: NLite - No Replies

A windows NLite build can be found at https://nextpvr.com/client.zip. NLite is a UI client for NextPVR, providing the same 10' user interface as nextpvr.exe, but can be used across the network.

To install, simple download the zip file, extract the files to your preferred location, then run NLite.exe

When it is run, it'll attempt to auto discover the NextPVR server on your network. If it doesn't find it automatically, you can explicitly request a specific server with a command line like:

nlite.exe -server:192.168.1.172:8866:0000

(where 0000 is the port)

Have always wanted to use a PVR so I downloaded NextPVR all went well but I can't make a
folder & I have to many chanells which I don't need.
