  Low-res fonts & fullscreen
Posted by: WayneD - 2016-12-02, 07:02 PM - Forum: NLite - Replies (6)

I've been fiddling with NLite, and if I click the (windowed) fullscreen icon in the titlebar, the fonts look craggy, like they were blown up from the same size as the initial window (where they looked fine, but they were in a quarter-size window).

I'm also wondering if there is a way to get the window into borderless fullscreen. I tried pressing F11 and Backslash without effect. I also tried passing "-help" to NLite.exe on the command-line to look for startup options, but it doesn't mention its usage with that.

  Multiple crashes on clients
Posted by: ccihon - 2016-12-02, 04:20 PM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (19)

Since installing the latest version, I have seen quite a number of application errors (crashes with force close) - they most regularly happen after a recording completes and NPVR returns to the GUI, but have also seen them as it sits idling at the recordings, listings, or home display, as it often does. This occurs on two different clients, so while I thought it might be a display or driver issue, I can't imagine it taking place on both units as they are quite a bit different hardware-wise. Did not see these errors on previous versions, and I can accept "close" and relaunch easily without issue - until the next time. - ideas?

Here is what appear in the Event viewer - these particular two errors took place after I stopped viewing last night:

New version of NextPVR stops live TV in Kodi
Posted by: TroyRad - 2016-12-01, 05:31 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I recently upgraded to v3.9.2 (161119) and now my live TV in Kodi no longer works. It works fine in the native NextPVR client, but I cannot run recordings in the native client (see attachments for detailed error). I posted the problem to the Kodi forum (http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=298535) to see if there are any suggestions. I am writing here to get the instructions to rollback this latest upgrade outside of a full system restore. Any suggestions?

Anyone having isssues with just a few channels on Comcast? MPEG4?
Posted by: ewitte - 2016-12-01, 02:45 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Equipment HDHomerun Prime is the one having the issue (we also have an OTA for additional local channel recordings).

We started having issues with 1 channel crashing the recording service. I disabled the HD version to rectify the issue until troubleshooting was possible.

But come yesterday we started having issues on a 2nd channel and remembered we had received a letter from Comcast stating they were in the process of converting to mpeg4. Could this be the issue and would anyone know of a possible solution?

BTW I started playing around on another computer and it upgraded the firmware apparently HDHomerun had a huge update in November.

Can't verify the NPVR version right now but the computer was rebuilt about a month ago to see if it resolved this issue (it was VERY unstable before the rebuild) and I used the latest available at that time.

Can anyone confirm if NextPVR can read Sky NZ LCN tags and TV guide?
Posted by: Benoire - 2016-12-01, 12:21 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hi

Its been a while since I last tried nextPVR as a replacement to my mediaportal/djblu custom grabber/SkyNZ plugin and I was wondering whether NextPVR was able to add channel numbers correctly on scanning and also pick up the TV guide for Sky in New Zealand? It used to be Hoffman encoded but I'm not sure if the EIT version has the same data as the OpenTV version now?

Does anybody know?

Thanks,

Chris

Auto add/remove channels as they change and add toggle for SD/HD replacement
Posted by: Benoire - 2016-12-01, 12:16 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hi

I'm still using MediaPortal with DJBlu's custom code to allow scanning of Sky TV NZ that automatically adds and remove channels between a defined range of channel numbers.

I would like to suggest that perhaps NextPVR could have this functionality added so that the user can define a range e.g. LCN 1 > 900 (reason for this is that Sky and other providers may have test channels that you want to exlcude) which the system will then scan for and add or remove channels that have changed within this range, this could have a user defined interval to determine how often this can occur.

In addition, having an SD/HD/Both toggle would allow the user to determine whether they want HD, SD or both versions of the channels added.

This would effectively give NextPVR the autoupdate options that many STBs have and allow the system to react to changes in channels; e.g. in New Zealand Sky often put pop-up channels in place that disappear once an event or holiday has ended.

Many thanks for this consideration.

Chris

  Digital Tuners, Graph Fail
Posted by: macgyver - 2016-11-30, 07:10 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

About a week ago I started getting the error:
Unexpected error building digital graph: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at DShowHelper.ConnectFilters(IBaseFilter* pFilterUpstream, IBaseFilter* pFilterDownstream, _AMMediaType* mediatype)
at Native.DigitalRecorderBase.BuildGraph(String deviceFilter, Int32 deviceInstance, Int32 commonInterface, Int32 commonInterfaceInstances, String& message)
at NShared.DigitalRecorder.StartStream(ChannelMapping channelMapping, String target, String& reason)

Reboot I thought, but when I did the PC never came back. Turns out the power supply had gone.
A week later and today I installed a new supply and all appears OK except for the above error which is still there.
I have an analog tuner that works fine but neither digital one does.
I went for an install of the latest version 3.9.2 to see if that would help but no change.
God knows if the power supply issue is related but I'm praying it's not hardware.
I'm hoping a file is missing/corrupt, a driver file maybe?
Any ideas?

Adding HVR-1255 tuners to Nextpvr available devices
Posted by: 2leftfeet - 2016-11-30, 06:43 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Hi,

I had a couple of Hauppauge HVR-1255s sitting in a box collecting dust for several years. Wanting to see if they still work, I plugged them into a spare PC, installed software and attached an antenna. With WinTV's scan, I picked up a bunch of channels and most seem to play well with WinTV. So far, so good.

I run nextpvr on a server/client network with a dedicated, headless server using an HDHR Prime as my current tuner source. Now I would like to add the HVR-1255s to the mix, but run those tuners on a separate network PC. MY question: Is there a way to get the nextpvr to detect and utilize these HVR-1255s sitting in a network attached PC?

Thanks.

  Nextpvr has stopped working. v 3.9.2 (161119)
Posted by: eastavin - 2016-11-30, 01:40 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Since upgrading to this release 3.9.2 (161119) have been getting an unusually larger amount of NextPVR has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem issues. May be watching Live TV or may be selecting something from the tv guide or about to pick a recording and presto... no pvr. Here are my log files if they might help anyone who can suggest a solution.
