I haven't looked at NextPVR for a while and just stumbled upon a thread that mentioned that NextPVR now has a iOS App!
Updated my NextPVR and bought a copy straight away...didn't bother checking how good it is/isn't as I wanted to support you without question.
It is very nice, would be great to have Chrome Cast Support and Air Play (to polish it off) and an Apple TV version would be lovely...also...if it isn't too much to ask :-) could we have a Android TV version?
I use mcebuddy to strip commercials and convert my recorded files. And I view my content using kodi. I really don't need the npvr files in subdirectories. It makes it harder to figure out what files are out there when I use file explorer. Plus I don't need the jpgs.
Is there any way to record with no subdirectories or jpegs? I am not seeing the option in setup under recordings, unless I am missing something.
I just updated NPVR to 3.9.2 and X-Newa alpha 8 would no longer connect to NPVR. I updated to beta 1 and it still won't connect. Has something changed?
I have updated NPVR and TV Listings to the latest versions and notice that I no longer have the option for searching TheTVDB. The option could have been missing prior to the upgrades for all I know, because I haven't used that feature in quite a long time. Any ideas?
I just upgraded to version 3.9.2 (161119) and encountered the Start Service error message in the attached screenshot.
Also when running nextPVR on the PC, I cannot change channels or stop playback once started.
I'm running on a Windows 10 PC.
What can I do to resolve this issue?
I've just uploaded version 3.7.2 of the TVListings plugin at the wiki.
Changelog:
Quote:- prevent premature dispose of ui elements in client mode
- also try to lookup images by name with invalid chars replaced by '-'
- limited the auto-inserted number of categories in the popup to 12
- adopted API changes for comaptibility with NextPVR 3.9.2
- aligned recurring recording options to default ones
Please note the following when upgrading:
This release requires NextPVR 3.9.2 and above
There's no need to overwrite an existing "TV Listings.db" database file during upgrade
If you've installed the patch from here, you may now return to the unpatched NextPVR version
After getting everything working perfectly on my computer (batch files, NextEnd, ComSkip), I moved on to getting things up to date on my wife's computer. Same build of Windows 10 on both computers, but they behave differently. So, why should it be any different for other software. When I did an Unistall of NextPVR on my computer I was able to delete all the NPVR files in ProgramFiles(X86) and in Users\Public\NPVR and start from scratch. On my wifes computer I was not able to delets all of the files in ProgramFiles(X86). WIndows Explorer said they were in use by another program. So, I tried a restart, thinking that might solve the problem. However, on startup I got a message:
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
The type initializer for "TVServices.Core.SystemSettings" threw an exception.
Is this related to NextPVR?
I've attached the batch files and config files from my wife's PC that worked on my PC, as well her logs.
I am still getting used to NPVR and was wondering how the scheduler works.
At the moment, I have two DVB-T tuners and a single DVB-S2 tuner.
I have one of the DVB-T tuners as the first priority for recording, then the DVB-S2 tuner and then the other DVB-T tuner.
In my channel list, I have all the HD channels at the top, followed by the +1 channels and lastly the SD versions of the channels. For example, Channel4 HD is above Channel 4+1, which is above Channel 4.
Whenever I set a series recording, I go to the topmost channel available and click record every time on any channel. I also have avoid duplicates set.
This seems to work fine, but I do seem to get some clashes where I don't think they should occur.
How sophisticated is NPVR in terms of switching recordings if another showing is show on another channel?
By the way, the reason I have HD channels at the top is based upon my prior experience with Argus TV - to favour HD recordings where possible. No idea if this is applicable to NPVR.
