Howdy, I have a win7 pc running the nextpvr backend, a raspberry pi2 running kodi as as client, and an hdhomerun prime pulling in the cable. If I change the channel in kodi, sometimes it works but eventually it will crap out and say "tuner not available". I've been scouring the net but haven't been able to fix it yet. Would y'all mind looking at my logs?
edit: Disabling Timeshift doesn't fix it, though it does seem to improve it. I installed Kodi on my other PC running Win10 as a test and the Tuner Not Available problem occurs here as well. It does seem to fix itself faster here though.
I also changed the firewall settings on the PC running NPVR backend. All 3 NPVR items I changed to All instead of Private only.
I'm running Kodi Gotham and the current release of NextPVR (3.4.8) on a windows 8.1 Brix i3.
Used to be on the main screen in X-NEWA when I clicked on All Recording I would get a nice list of all the recording I had, ordered by the show name.
I rarely use that function but when I tried it recently (and it continues to be this way) I get no listing at all. Just the refresh and sort menus is all I get.
The shows are really all there and are recapped nicely in the opening X-NEWA main screen.
I am not sure which logs I need to attach. NextPVR logs, Kodi logs, or what. Let me know and I will attached the correct logs that might be needed.
One point of information which my gut tells me might be the problem. I had upgraded to Helix. After problems it was recommended that I upgrade to Issy Beta2. I still had this (unrelated to X-NEWA) problem with Kodi. So I uninstalled and reinstalled Gotham which continues to work perfectly. The problem that caused me to start this thread may have cropped up then, but since I rarely use it, I can't say for sure when it may have started.
It isn't a big deal for me as my main use is to see Up Coming Recordings and to use the NextPVR Web client to schedule recordings.
Thanks for any help that might be given, and when I know which logs are needed, I will upload those.
Been reading the forums and spotted a request that was near what I'd like to request but not quite.
When I've scanned for channels there's usually a whole lot of duplicated (at least, when using Freesat in the UK). At the moment I have to scroll up and down to select the duplicates and then manually merge them together (DVB-T and DVB-S sources).
What'd be great is to be able to click the column headers in the Channels list so that it's easier to spot channels of the same name and merge before sorting by the channel number again. Hopefully not too much work to add and would make life a lot easier (would love to test a pre-release if it makes it!).
Do love the NextPVR. Used to use GBPVR back in the day with an analog Hauppauge WinTV card ... then got a DVB-T based card (Dual tuner Hauppauge Nova-T) and now have a DVB-S2 card. Front end I'm using Kodi on multiple devices (kindle, Pi, PC!) and dude ... NextPVR is so sweet to use with it all. Really appreciate the work!
I am trying to fault find a problem where all recordings on a particular mux wonât play. The problem recordings are around the size expected but Media Info Lite reports no audio or video content.
In the logs:-
2015-08-20 19:55:58.91 [DEBUG][4] locked=0, present=0, strength=0, quality=0 (took 0ms to check)
File size is 0
However all recordings good and bad have the same entries in the logs.
This is from my Vista server installed several months ago but a Windows 8 server disk being setup to replace it gives the same result as does a clean Vista test install using no setup files copied over. This is using three different tuners. Although I have noticed the â0â file size message before I thought the tuner & signal check had worked recently.
Without the signal info it is difficult to tell if it is caused by a drop in signal level.
Yesterday, I fumbled around and found a way to add it to my EPG Source. Apparently, you must Right-Click the Live TV feed while it is going to show the menu for it.
I selected it, entered my username and password, and it was happy.
The EPG, though, looked no better than it did with XMLTV as the EPG Source.
In the settings, it shows that the EPG is updated at 2:47 AM.
So, I walked away (went to work), and checked it again this morning.
Today, I have the same EPG that I had the day before.
Is there a guide that can show someone who is illiterate with NextPVR and SG how to get going?
If I can't get this to work during my 7 day trial, I'm certainly not going to pay for it.
I get 0-size recordings. Live TV results in a blank screen. If I drop the memory down to less than 4gb, the card works great. I've tried a number of 64-bit drivers from ATI. They all have the same result. I'm wondering if something else in the chain is not compatible with +4gb of RAM.
I've attached the filtercheck.log and a sample of a typical NRecord.log. One thing I noticed is that the hardware encoder on the 650 isn't found by NextPVR even when memory is under 4 gig and the card is working..
Code:
about to look for encoder
About to look for hardware encoder.
AttachHardEncoder@1
Unable to get pin medium
Hardware encoder not found. Attempting to fall back to software encoder.

Has anyone else got analog record working on a machine with more than 4gb of ram?
Logs attached - reording doens't seem to work. Latest 3.4.8, downloaded today.
The directory I am trying to save to is z:\shared videos\ and it does exist; but npvr isn't creating files inside of it.
I'm able to watch live TV just fine - but not record.
The important snippets seem to be (nrecord):

Looks like it thinks it isn't locked. No idea why though, since it works ok when viewing live (with the same 'locked' result)
This symptom (no lock reported) seems very similar to the one I reported at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...-channels& but here I can view live just fine.
Can only receive some channels which we never actually got to the bottom of.
