trying to setup a pvr pc system

I'm new to this concept but one question I need an answer to is, can this be done with a dialup connection and dish network tv. Rolleyes

dial up will take a while to get the epg update but should work. As for direct tv you need an IR blaster or USBUIRT to change the channel

yea you can do it. i do it with dialup and directv. updating the epg is the biggest pain, so i set it to download 15 days worth of info, and manual do it every week. but other than that its fine
