Question about cable boxes

Does anoyne out there have a PVR350 and a channel changer so that they have GBPVR getting video through the Svideo line in but switching the channels on their cable or satelite box by use of an IR sender tied into the GBPVR channel guide? Is this possible?

This is pretty much what I do. I use a USB-UIRT. Other options are Actisys IR200L or RedRat.
