Hello,
i have a HD homerun tuner and have my EPG set and downloaded the data, and have my recording set to digital and my device is listed and selected, But when i go to map my channels i get two listed and the utility freezes and it show up on the windows task manager as not responding.
I will include my logs.

Thanks

I guess these do not work on Analog cable at all, Right?

This is an issue with the HDHomeRun and we have yet to find the cause. When you enter the channel mapping screen, stop the scan immediately then try scanning each frequency manually. You can get the list of frequencies to scan by opening the BDA\ATSC\qam.ini file in a text viewer like notepad. Run the scan in the HDHomeRun Setup first if you have not done so.

You are correct that the HDHomeRun does not tune analog channels.

I will have to try that, Scaning Manually, I did do the setup in HDhomerun and did not have any issues with it finding the channels and i did use there Viewer and was able to view the channel i picked.

Are there any units that will Record, Qam and Analog too, I have Cable but it is Analog with Qam channel the pass thru, and that is why i got this unit as i would like to record on Analog and digital channels too. It seem strange that is does not record analog channel as well. My old WinTV-PVR-150 gave up the ghost and does not record, Sometimes it will record OK and the the next time it is just static on the same channel. So i thought a upgrade was in order and purchased a HDHomeRun but it seems i will only get part of the channels that are available to me.

Well i checked Hauppauge web site and the WinTV-HVR-1250 will do both, So maybe i will have to return the HD and get a Hauppauge unit instead, As it seems the HD will only record some of the channel and i will still have to get a Analog tuner to record what it can not.

I like the idea of the HD but they should of included Analog as well to the tuning and recording function.

I appreciate the quick response and the help with my unit, I know if i have a problem i can get answer to fix the problem.

thanks Again

I'm having the same issue, manual scan does no good, any clue on where to look next? Just bought a HDHomerun and tried to get it set up today. Is there DVR software other than GBPVR that works better with it?

Have you tried changing the video codec prior to scanning? My experience is that some video codecs work better than others when doing scanning.

True - the Microsoft video decoder can cause crashes during scanning.
