Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone with the WinTV 150 setup has gotten the remote to work with GBPVR? And if so, please let me know what you've done because I can't get it to work for me.

Thanks,

Yes, me and most other people here.

You usually just have to click the 'fix hauppauge remote settings' button in the config app, then restart the IR app and it should be all go.

sub,

I've tried this once but I took your suggestion and tried it once more. I checked my batteries with a battery tester just to make sure they weren't dead before proceeding and they're not. I went into the GBPVR configuration, chose the fix hauppauge remote setting (45 button remote) and then restarted the IR app and nothing. Do you think my remote could be defective? Hmmm . . . . The IR portion works fine! I can record without any problem but it's just the remote that doesn't want to cooperate. It has been in a drawer for months but I thought I'd give a another go and it still doesn't work.

Am I doing something wrong? What else could it be?

Something so simple yet so complicated,

Does the remote work with any other applications? For example the WinTV software that came with it?

Sounds like its broken to me.

It might be worth installing the latest Hauppauge drivers on the off-chance it fixes something.

I had a similar problem. Fixed by ensuring IR Receiver was plugged in correctly Wink The socket that the receiver plugs into is quite close to the edge of the faceplate, and it was being held out by a mm or so by the case.

The other way to check if the remote is transmitting, is to find another IR device that flashes its receive light when seeing a signal (most TV's do that)

Good luck,

If you have a digital camera that is not really high end (meaning it has an expensive ir filter) you should be able to see it flash in the LCD screen of the camera, too.

Hi all,

Thanks very much for all of your input in trying to help me solve my problem.

Sub: I just reformatted my hard drive 2 days ago and downloaded the most recent software from the Hauppauge website.

AntiGrav: The IR Blaster is plugged into the correct port because my WinTV PVR works A1, 100% of the time. I record on a daily basis and have had no issues so this means that the card/hardware is working properly.

stefan: I took your advice and tested the remote control in my digital camera and the remote's working just fine.

So, without further to do I called tech support and they think that the remote control cable of the IR blaster/remote combo may be defective. They are sending me out a new cable tomorrow. Let's hope this will solve my problem.

Thanks!
