Edit/Repair channel data

I searched a little and could only find tuning and EPG posts.

How would you do about editing the channels? I've always had a problem where two channels are showing up as 81, even though zap2it has them as 81 and 82. I tried just editing the name, but it still sees 82 where 81 is.

I also had a channel rename, pushing a 38 to the bottom (it's an 80 or 110 in the index). I'd like to move that up where the dead one is/was (A&E was ARTS and became AETV in zap2it...same channel/#, different data)

I am not sure but can't you change the order and what channels get displayed
in the config app under channels
by changeing #'s and check marks

I unchecked the box next to the next to the arts and then it moved the other channel 24 A&E down to the right spot

i have the same thing here..118-AETV is now ch9730?? just shows a hole where it's supposed to go.. so i unchecked it, and the hole was gone, but it was still at the end...also i had to edit channel number in 'channels' in config...after update program guide it moved down..

geez i wish they wouldn't auto-add new channels or give us a choice at Zap2it..
every other week i get a few new foreign language channels i have to go uncheck at zap2it..
well, at least i never loose track of renewal time cuz i go there so often! lol

hmm,is there any way to delete those unchecked channels from the config?
guessing i could use Access?

I also was affected by the AETV change. Took a few trys, but I finally resolved it, I think, by deleting ARTS in the capture source and renumbering AETV to the correct channel. Then renumbering AETV in the "channels" tab.

Now my question is - how do I delete the odd incorrect channels that have accumulated at the end of the list on the channels tab?

That worked for display, but not when you try to watch. The tuning is set elsewhere.

I did managen to fix it, and unlink the two channels that were stuck together, but it was so not easy--and took page and DB editing--that I won't go into how it was done.

If you know what you are doing, and you have Access, it can be done, but I ****HIGHLY**** recommend you make copies of everything you touch before you touch it, and keep those copies until it looks like everything works.
