It's a window titled "ActiveWindow" that GB-PVR has triggered before when it's gone wrong. It's not a MediaPlayer / NeroPlayer / Cyberlink player window - just a frame with video running in it, and the title "Active Window".

In fact - from another thread:
Quote:there is an incompatibility between the Cyberlink Mpeg2 decoder (which you may have selected, or is your system default) and the VMR renderer. This combination will cause a separate ActiveMovie window to popup. To correct the problem, either choose a different mpeg decoder, or change from VMR to Overlay.

I'll have to try some other settings tomorrow...

I came home from work today to find GB-PVR eating up the CPU cycles - and claiming that it was recording Jamie's Great Escape - which was on last night

the logs seem to show the right things happening:
GBPVRRecordingService.exe-Native.log

but it clearly did still think it was recording...

and GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log had:

14/11/2005 04:02:00.180 VERBOSE [23] Stopping recording oid:1

which sounds OK again...

As I said - I need to do some playing to find out what's going on. Oh - and there was another ActiveWindow floating about. I wasn't using the Cyberlink MPEG2 decoder, either...

Of course, I wasn't doing any decoding at all.

Its something to do with the way a filter called "MainConcept (Nikon) MPEG Video Decoder" is installed on your machine. I recommend finding where it is installed on your machine, and uninstalling it.

Also, you seem to be using the InterVideo mux, which I would recommend. It does a crap job. Try installing a Cyberlink one instead, or use the Microsoft DVR-MS one.
