If you have DirectX 9.0c installed, it should work...providing your video card is capable of VMR display.
What video card do you have?
You can never have enough tuners!
Pentium Quad / 4Gb Dual Channel RAM / XPSP3 / 2 x PVR-500, PVR-250 / GB-PVR

Do you use intervideo as a renderer? It does not support vmr9 "out of the box". You might have to do a registry hack for it to work. Try searching the forum, it's in here somewhere which registry key to set/change.
I'm not always right

I've noticed this, if you use Remote Desktop to connect to the GBPVR machine.

Are you using Remote Desktop / Terminal Services ?

You also get the error if you use VNC to connect to the computer remotely. I've found I can VNC in, double-click gbpvr real quick and disconnect, then re-connect after a few seconds and work with gbpvr's interface.
