Afaik you have to set the "manual skip timebase" in the playback-tab to minutes!
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

That makes sense, then. It never made sense to have that set to minutes, since I'm using it as an alternative to FF, and it should be as subtle.

Looking for a loophole: Can you set it to minutes, and then edit config.xml w/ fractions of a minte (0.5 = 30)?

You should be able to get what you want with the settings set appropriately. Below are the default settings in config.xml

<SkipInsteadOfFFRW>true</SkipInsteadOfFFRW>
<SkipInsteadOfFFRWSeconds>10</SkipInsteadOfFFRWSeconds>

(so the pressing the FF or RW buttons will jump 10 seconds)

<DefaultSkipSecondsForward>60</DefaultSkipSecondsForward>
<DefaultSkipSecondsBack>30</DefaultSkipSecondsBack>

(so each time you press 'skip' by itself it'll jump 60 seconds forward, each time you press 'replay' it'll jump back 30 seconds)

<ManualSkipTimebase>Minutes</ManualSkipTimebase>

(timebase is minutes, so if you press 5-skip, it'll jump forward 5 minutes)

That's perfect, and makes perfect sense now that I really read the params. I had just assumed the manual setting would override the seconds aspect of the skip overall.

Thx for the help, all.
