Hi,
I have gb pvr installed on my PC (works great by the way) , but I have problems when a scheduled recording starts when the hard drive is spun down (did it to save power and help hard drive live longer - after 1 hour disks power down)
The recording starts but creates a file 5.74K (a tad small for a 1 hour show)
Is there any work around (apart from leaving the HD spinning for 24hrs a day)

Thanks for a geat prog by the way

The hard drive should spin back up once recording begins. I have my hard drives power down after 5 minutes of inactivity and don't have a problem with failed recordings.

I agree with gmorse. If this is caused by your hard drive being spun down, then it sounds like the power saving features of your PC dont work properly. GB-PVR shouldnt need to know anything about the disk being power down. It should just be able to start writing a regular file like it normally would, and windows should automatically power the disk up in the background etc.

You may encounter a studder in use w/ spin-down. Starting a recording and certain plugins will poll cetains things, and require they spin up to check them
