Does ffdshow option still exist?

The option "Use FFDSHOW post-processing if installed" on the playback tab appears in the help documentation.

However, on my install, that option is not there. I'm using the lastest version. Was this option removed?

I'm trying to get my DivX/XVid/DVD files to play with the correct aspect ratio? Am I heading in the correct direction?

Also, how would I add the change aspect ratio command to my hauppauge 45 button remote?

If ffdshow is installed, it automatically gets used. You need to edit the ffdshow raw settings for these to take affect with divx/xvid files.

You can edit the irremote.ini and set one of the buttons to send the 'F7' keystoke to GB-PVR. Please note though, this wont work if you're using ffdshow to maintain the aspect ratio.

I couldn't get the ffdshow to work (but it does work with dvd), but I did get the button on the remote remapped, so I am happy.

Except sometimes when you hit the button on the remote WinTV2000 opens, but mostly the aspect ratio changes. I'll keep looking in to it.
