Running Comskip while recording

Hi,

Will running ComSkip after a recording is complete (as opposed to during recording) improve its accuracy?

Also, can anyone suggest some good comskip settings for Canadian tv?

There is no difference in quality indeed.

Reboot may have good Canedian ini files

The once shown here come from reboot but remember, if you record in lower quality or with lesser quality signal you may have to raise non_unoformity to 500 or 1000

How low is lower quality?

I record everything at 5500-6000kbps on a PVR-500, with a good signal.
If you're using a different card, at a different bitrate, with a different signal strength, you may have to tweak the settings.
Here are two profiles that work for me.

For almost all Canadian channels:

Lower quality is 3000kbps or lower.
Also visible noise means lower quality.
Or half resolution (360 horizontal)

However in the ini files posted by reboot you already see non_uniformity=1000 so I suggest you copy the settings from reboot.
