Recording (*)ed shows

I don't know if this is out there already but...

Is there a plugin for setting the recording type option to record only new episodes

Seems like an easy script but i've never written a plugin for a program

I just mean 'easy' if you can set the plugin to look for the * that mc2xml places in the tv guide, then you would be able to set a daily or weekly season recording option that would only record the new episodes

If anyone knows of a plugin or skin that has this option let me know

GBPVR will already do this

From what i can understand (and i use the star in mc2xml) the logic when setting a season recording for a show is that it will look for the matching show text including the (*) so it will effectively only record the shows with the (*) in it. So shows with no (*) do not match the recording series criteria and will not be scheduled. As long as you have set up your original season recording with a show that has the (*) in the title at the time you schedule the recording it should work

I have mine set up like this and all seems to work 99% of the time, accasionally a show is not scheduled to record and i am not sure why that is.

I believe that for North America where the info is available, you can select "don"t record duplicates" and the shows with an asterisk won"t be recorded. I don"t use the feature myself, because I may have missed an episode here and there where 2 tuners was"t enough to capture the shows I enjoy
