Theater 550 and Win2K

Hi!

I woul dlike to know if windows 2000 Pro Service pack 4 will work with this captures card from Powercolor theater 550 pro? ASFAIK I will need the drivers to work and then I can install GBPVR to watch telli? Is that right?

I would say no.

This is the card i have, pci and works with win 2k. Cheaper then PCE.e (mine was only £45 from ebuyer.com incl remote )

I saw this on komplett.se, but I dont trust their information as powercolor did not list win2k among OS support for this card. (Se link above from Powercolor)

I wrote to Powercolors support and I have got the answer that ATI have not made any driver to support win2K driver for this tuner card, but it seem that even that ATi have not made explicit driver for win2k that you can use it with this os as I suspected. This contradict their claim to be winXP (or MCE) only card.

I thought that if you have a PCIe tuner and use nf4 chipset that it would be better with SATA as then it has not to go through PCI buss and share the same bandwith for storage. But it seem that it has no real world effect from what I understand.

I have the theater 550 pro card's box right here.. says windows xp and WMCE . (pci version of card) maybe the pcie version works for 2000?

I'm only guessing, but I suspect the drivers will also work on 2000, but the bundled software may not, which wouldnt be a huge problem.
