I'm trying to add a registry key to get GB-PVR MediaMVP Server to run at startup. I can't find the path to this app/service anywhere . Anyone?

You should use the built-in functionality to start the MVP server at startup. It has a couple of additional benefits that you'll miss out on if you try to do it manually yourself.

Yes Sub I have always used it and ultimately I will. However as I mentioned in another thread http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=8...ostcount=5 I'm having some windows stability problems that seem to be connected to either the config gui or the mvp server app since installing the second card. I think I've nailed it to the psu but want to try a few things before I replace it.

You can run "gbpvr.exe -mvpmode" to start an MVP service, but it will be missing the auto restart features you get with running using the built in stuff.

Thanks Sub, as I said it's only for troubleshooting. Hopefully normal service will be resumed ASAP.

guys,

I too am having the same problem.

At night I can enjoy my shows streamed to my MediaMVP but by the next night when I stream a recorded TV show, I get a black screen.

My setup:
GBPVR server with autostart=0
manually open 2 MediaMVP Servers (I have 2 MVPs in house)

I have to kill each MediaMVP server manually and then restart every night. Man, this is annoying.

I cannot use autostart=2 because when I do, my MediaMVP menu is missing plugins and even on the active plugins, it cannot find any of the drive paths where the shows are recorded.

I know a lot of people here say use autostart but its not doing it for me. Not sure why...I don't have multiple servers on multiple machines running. I have cold booted my MVPs and still no luck.

If I use autostart=0 and manually open MediaMVP Servers, my menus look fine.

I even tried to setup a Windows Task Scheduler that would run GBPVR.EXE -mvpmode at 6pm daily and autoterminate after 6 hours so that each day, my MediaMVP Servers would be fresh...but WindowsTaskScheduler is unable to run the EXE with the parameter. It will only allow GBPVR.exe.

I then tried to wrap a Batch file, but although the batch run fines, the TaskScheduler only kills the Batch, not the GBPVR.exe file within.

Anyone got any other ideas?

Deepak I'm not sure this is the same problem. You may have better responses with a well titled new thread. My problem was windows stability running two capture cards. It sounds as if you are having problems with the MVP only. For what its worth I pinned my problem down to a memory leak with a server running for a seperate app (remoteAmp2) which I use to access my winamp music collection using a PDA. I was getting CPU spikes of 100% and RAM was not being freed. I'm running freeRamXP now and have had no problems since.
