I was search for information about tuner priority and fround a message from Sub saying "Recordings and Live TV start looking for an available tuner at opposite ends of the list."
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...r+priority

Is there any way around this? I have 2 tuners and the second one on the list always has some static to it. This is ok for the few times I use it, but if I don't have anything recording I would like to use the first card for watching Live TV. Is there anything I can do?

Sorry, I don't think there's any way that you can specify the tuner you want to use.. what are the two cards in your system, and which one is causing the static? Might be worth trying to find the source of the static and fixing the problem. (for example, if youre splitting a coaxial input to give to both cards, you should put an amplifier before the split so you dont degrade the signal)

Remember the most important thing about PVRing: don't *ever* give up! and tweaking and playing with settings will become your new hobby Smile I'm sure you will end up with something you'll love to use.

Recordings will favour the tuner at the top of your capture source list. TV will favour the tuner at the bottom of your capture source list. There is no way for you to change this.

Thanks for the quick replies. The "main" tuner is a PVR-150 and the other one is an ATI PCI TV Tuner. The ATI tuner has always been a bit flaky so I bought the 150 to replace it basically. In the past I used mythtv and decided when I got the 150 to give some windows programs a shot. I really like GB-PVR and wish there was a way around this.

Are there any ways to tweak the tuning and other options on the ATI card under windows? Maybe that would help some. I know in linux I can fine tune the frequency.

I am splitting a coxial cable but still recieving a good picture ont he 150 and the problems still exist when I remove the splitter.

I am also having some sounds problems that are occuring only under GBPVR. I still need to isolate the problem and do some research on them myself.

I have been prving for a long time and just recently came across gbpvr. Congrats on a great piece of software sub from one programmer to another.

Regarding fine tuning; if you know the frequency you want to use, you can put it in *instead* of channel number in the capture source setup.
I'm not always right
