Everything was working fine , came back to watch some recordings I had just made and when I goto Recordings I get this message " Error:Specified cast is not valid" nothing has changed from 6pm when I was just watching some recording so I'm not sure what went wrong. Restarted pc and same problems? Any ideas?

One other guy had this. It related to recordings he had that referred to programmes that were no longer in his database. We're not sure how it got this way. He had manually delete some shows, so it possibly human error, but possibly also a logic error in GB-PVR that cause them to be deleted.

I just saw your reply to this here (check google damit) http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=9...tcount=280

Earlier today I had a conflict. Somehow the same show was showing under 2 pending recordings. I removed one and lost both recurring recordings , so I just re-added the one recording back. Is there any fix for this? re-install?

Well I tried everything I could think of;

- uninstall , delete /devnz dir and reinstalled in place - same problem

-backup gbpvr.mdb and config.xml, export recordings , uninstall\reinstall\del /dennz and replace gbpvr.mdb and config.xml - same problem

-uninstall , delete /devnz dir , install fresh , rebuild config from scratch (capture sources,EPG etc) , import recordings. All seems to be working although I haven't recorded anything yet. I can access recordings/guide properly.

Any idea what I may have done to cause this mess? I DON"T want to repeat whatever it was.

I'm not sure, but if you ever work it out, let me know and I'll fix it so that it never happens again.

I was the one that sub refers to above with this error. As he says, it could have been me dicking around with the database, but to fix it, instead of using the Recordings plugin, I simply used XRecord, and went through my reoccuring show list and deleted any that were no longer airing. Probably not applicable to anyone else, but always worth trying as a first step in the fix process before uninstalling etc Smile

cheers,

I had same problem.
This was my resolution, and it worked fine:

1. Using config I exported my recordings.
2. Also using config I deleted epg info.
3. Using Access I deleted all remaining records from tables RECORDING_SCHEDULE and PROGRAMME
4. Using config - import recordings

That's it!

Hope I helped You

I think I did that more less but I used the hammer approach! By doing a complete reinstall I deleted EPG info and repaired the db the hard way!

I actually have 4 separate "season recording" entries in my RECORDING_SCHEDULE table that don't have corresponding entries in the PROGRAMME table.

Should I just delete the entries from the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table, or try and rebuild the entries in PROGRAMME?
