Hello.

I've been getting this problem whenever I try to update my epg. I'm extracting my listings from the radio times website (I'm in the UK) with Alans Birtles XMLTV GUI. Once I start receiving this error I'm unable to update my listings and I lose the majority of my channel entries. (the channels exist but with no listings attached.)

My temporary solution is to restore the ghost image on my machine, however since this is about the eleventh or twelfth time Ive got this error I thought I'd post about it. I'm open to suggestions. Can anyone offer advice.

Regards
Richard

Hi,

not sure if this is any help & I may be misreading your problem completely but...

since updating to latest release of GBPVR was having similar problem when attempting to update EPG (listings captured using XMLTV GUI)
Following advice in another thread (sorry can't remember name of person who offered advice) I removed capture source and set it up again, adding channels with names the exact same as those given in XMLTV GUI, works fine now (... this never occurred to me before as channel names in capture source and XMLTV GUI differd slightly and it had alkways worked before, eg BBC1 for BBC1 Northern Ireland).

Like I said might have misunderstood your problem completely, just this woked for me with a similar error.

Can you try running the attached utility and let me know what it says?

Its because of a data error, which may have a occurred a long time ago. The recordings screen does some slightly more complex SQL for loading the data quicker in v0.96 release, but its not happy if programme recordings a missing from the database for season recordings, which is what I think is happening in your case.

Sub,

thanks for the program, I've run it and it reports

All RecordScheduleItems have their related Program Records.

And the only button I can select is close.

Meanwhile GBPVR now does this and failes to start!

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

I have a nasty feeling that .NET framework is corrupted on this machine, If it helps, I'll restore the Ghost image and rerun your tool again on the machine,

I'm getting this error quite quickly, I've rebuild the machine about 3 months ago from scratch and ghosted it, and I'm restored the image about 10 times, so I'm only getting about 10 days before it failes again.

I'm happy to rebuild from scratch if needed....... just a thought.....

Richard

Sub,

Error. Sorry bad news, I've been forced to restore the machine (by my wife), so I've lost the XMLTV File as I didn't see your message, however I'll have it a couple of days again and I will send it then if thats ok....
