XDVD was written with VLC in mind as the encoder/transcoder program.
I understand the various batch files (playmvpfiles.bat, playmvp.bat, etc) and how they interact with VLC.
Unforunately, VLC creates awfully bad TimeStamped mpgs where using FF or Rew is basically impossible. The Video length is always wrong and there are a lot of issues regarding TimeStamps.
I have been able to replace the VLC command line with mencoder and get a "BETTER" mpg file using the "Transcode" button , with the help of PBS, who is very knowledgeble of mencoder and ffmpeg.
But I would like to use "Play" insted of "TransCode" so that I get the same
XX/150 frame counters on the top screen to let me know that something is working. Also I would like to "Kill" the process, but instead of killing VLC, I kill Mencoder.
PBS, Have you been able to replace VLC with Mencoder , or probably better yet with ffmpeg ? Can the "Play" button of XDVD interact with something other than VLC ?
