I move all my "orginal" files to a single folder. The folder is mapped into the video library so I still have access to the files. I manually purge that folder based on file name and oldest dates. When I move the file I get rid of the "_original" so that the file name matches the original recording name.
I tried some other tricks, but they didn't really work out for me. You can rename the "_original" file so that the extension is .mpeg while also taking out the "_original". GBPVR doesn't like the "_original" part, but doesn't mind files ending in .mpeg and will happily delete them with all the other files with varying extensions.
I couldn't tell the difference between the .mpg and the .mpeg files on my DSM-320 which usually cuts the file name sort well before the extension due to screen space limitations. Half the time I was watching the commercial versions instead of commercial free. I don't think this is an issue with the MVP or a video out situation.
