Can view live TV but recordings fail

I have an ATI TV Wonder Pro and used the SoftwareRecorder plugin to get live tv to appear. It looks perfect, but whenever I try to choose a show to record, it doesn't record it. When I go to the listing inthe recordings section, it shows how many of each show it was supposed to record but when I click them it shows "failure" on everyone of them. What do I need to do to get this working?

I installed the avivo 1.14 when doing the SoftwareRecorder plugin

You're probably best to answer this question in the Software Recording plugin thread in the Hardware forum, otherwise normanr (the plugin author) probably wont see it.
