ahh..

I think it may be the card itself, did a clean install on a cleared partition and was fine with beyondtv, gbpvr and wintv. Restart and now no audio on the coax/analog source on any of them. The rf remote/cable didn't work out of the box either so hopefully the exchanged one will work properly. I really don't want to have to tape everything off the digital box unless I absolutely have to. Although with your software including a epg I might end up setting up the IR blaster (stupid shaw box only lets you 'record' upto 4 programs)

If only I have the $1500 to burn on a dedicated htpc Smile

This is pretty common with PVR150s. Hauppauge most recent drivers have attempted to address some things that can lead to this.

Hi, I work for that stupid Shaw box company... :-) I've been doing this GB-PVR thing with Shaw's DCT for a couple of months now.

Can I ask: why do you wish to have the DCT being used for only 10% of your recordings?

I have my dct hooked into the svideo connection on the 150 (very simlar usage as the composite) and I have a IR blaster control the DCT.

I use it for live tv and recordings. Once I got it all configured I stopped using the Shaw remote altogether

I used to ask 'why?' Now I just reinstall...

Ya, I notice that only the 64bit drivers (beta) address this issue. So I'm pretty much out of luck with the analog audio then?

That way I can watch analog and tape digital at the same time (if needbe)
I have a coax splitter, but my lcd tv takes like 15 seconds to switch channels (very annoying). Since only 10% if that are actually digital channels

I was thinking about taping everything from the cable box:
so I could either tape enough stuff so I never have to watch live tv again (not use to this hd based system quite yet Smile or use the tv tuner analog coax out to the tv to watch analog if I am taping something else.
Probably end up going with the first option and use the ir blaster because of the latter issues with the no audio for analog...

Also just recently (about a month ago) bought an lcd tv, and using that as a computer monitor as well. Play dvds on my computer... I was going to try and slowly get into the whole htpc thing, but the pvr150 was onsale so had to buy it now Smile

Again, thanks for all your comments. Eventually I hope to get this up and running.

Their drivers are for 32bit and 64bit systems in the same distribution.

While missing audio seems to be more common on the PVR150 than any other card, its still a relatively rare affliction. Most of the people that have had this problem are able to get around by trying different drivers.

Really? the 64bit drivers would work.. I guess its worth a try. If not, then there are really only two other sets of drivers (off the cd and the newest from the website...)

No, I was saying that drivers Hauppauge have been releasing recently include both the 32 and 64 bit binaries in the same package. They'll almost be exactly the same driver, give or take a few specialist bits for coping with loading the drivers and accepting requests from the operating system.

When you install the drivers it works out which versions of the files it needs.

I thought that it would be odd that they would only release 64bit versions Smile

I exchanged for the one again, but the sales guy said that more than likely the remote only works with win xp mce (the only one they seem to sell now is the designed for win xp, but also the mce logo...)

Remote works on this one. Don't know what the deal is with the media centre logo...

hopefully power up my computer numberous times to test and see if these beta drivers will give me audio all the time while recording Smile
