I have just tried to setup HIP following the wiki guide. All went fine re the download and install of alternative drivers. I set up my mce remote and most buttons seem to work OK.

HOWEVER, I have to press each button twice before anything happens. This is the case for all buttons in every option in gbpvr. I have googled for this but can't find a similar issue.

Also my mce wireless keyboard has completely ceased to function as has the integrated wireless mouse. Is it possible to have the k/board work when you have changed the drivers for the mce remote?

Finally - can anyone send me (or post a link to) a copy of config files for mce remote and/or files necessary to control a sky digibox stb? If I can just get something working properly, then I am sure I can get to the stage of modifying individual keys/functions for myself.

This is all a bit complicated for a newbie but a nudge in the right direction is all I need.

TIA

according to the HIP developer, you wont be able to get the MCE keyboard working with the alternative driver very easily. You'll have to use the ehome driver for this. Take a look at my post here for a method of using HIP with both the MCE plugin and the eHome driver in tandem. Ive never heard of having to press the button twice for a response, but maybe setting it up as per that thread link will sort that anyway.

I have been running the setup described for a couple of weeks without problem. I took the PVR apart for transportation yesterday though so can't get access to the config file at the moment, i can post it in a day or two if you're still having problems.

What problems are you having with the Sky STB?

ricklous - thanks for replying and sorry about being slow to get back to you. For some reason I did not get an email notification.

Anyway - thanks also for the link for dual driver operation. I'll look at that in a minute.

As to your point about my sky stb. The problem is that I got a bit confused about setting up HIP to control the sky box. I (think) I managed to get HIP up and running for the mce remote to control the PC but obviously what I need to be able to do is change channels on the sky box using the mce remote. That's the bit I need help with. There doesn't seem to be a good/simple guide - that's why I thought if I could get some sample config files to look at/experiment with, then I could go on to modify those if necessary.

Perhaps, when you have a moment, you could post them and/or just amplify the mce remote-to-sky box setup business. (Like, for a start, when you are training the mce remote are you using the sky remote in that process? Boy did I get confused at that point:o ).

Strange - I am normally pretty handy around computers. I have managed to set up quite a complicated mixed linux/Windoze network with some hard wired and some wireless PCs. Everything works fine but I have struggled the last few days with this HIP business. I read all the stuff in the wiki and on the HIP sites but maybe it is just the new terminology. Anyway - I love linux and that means I love mucking about with my set up, so I am not down-heartedBig Grin

Hope you can get me further down the road.
