I'm going to build an extension cable for the IR receiver cable so I don't have to cut/splice it. Could someone tell me what the size of this jack is? Is it called a 1.5mm stereo jack? Just a guess...

Hi,
No, actually it's called a 2.5mm mini-plug (stereo-jack is also used instead of mini-plug). I am trying to find the parts to build an extension cable for the WinTV-PVR150's IR receiver & blaster. This one requires more than the stereo-jack. This thing's plug has 3 insulator rings and 4 conducting parts - like a stereo headphone with microphone jack. It's very hard to find... Hope I helped. Yes, that helps very much! I also have the PVR-150. If I find the correct jack size/type (both male and female) I'll reply back and tell you where I found it. Thanks!

This cable will work if you only plan on using the IR receiver. If you want to also use the IR blaster, then the 4 pole jack will need to be used, and I haven't been able to find one of those yet. I only plan on using the IR receiver, so I will be buying this cable.

Hello all,
I have just finished making an extension cord for the IR received + blaster today. I found a 4-pole 2.5mm male jack somewhere in Tel-Aviv (yeah, not very useful to most of you, but if any Israeli wants the address - send a private message). On an Israeli HTPC/PVR forum I read that Nokia Hands-Free kits use a 4-pole 2.5mm jack for the microphone. I went to a car accessory dealer and asked if they had a used HF kit, and they said yes. I bouth it for about US$5. Took a lot of fiddling to open it and disconnet the female socket, but it seems to work for the receiver (I haven't tested the blaster yet - too many scheduled recording ). I will post a reply here after I test it. Hope this helps someone. GGF P.S. it seems that obtaining a 4-pole 2.5mm female connector is very hard otherwise. I spent hours today going to as many electronics supply stores as I could (14 in total) and only one had the male-jack, none had the female socket, and all of them told me that they can't get it.

Hi all,
Look what I found (still not much help, but it's a step): male - http://www.plastics1.com/CCS/Item.php?item=643 female - http://www.smk.co.jp/whatsnew_e/651kk_e.html And a cable, just like the one I bought this morning and cut to connect to the female connector I ripped from the Nokia HF kit: http://www.videk.co.uk/home.asp?page=Pro...apterID=30 GGF
