I just tried GBPVR for the first time and I must it looks incredible. However, I can't get the MVP to see the GBPVR. I tried the Hauppauge software and it connected just fine. I then uninstalled the Hauppauge software for the MVP and then chose 1 server in the MVP tab under CONFIG for GBPVR. The MVP says loading application but never does anything else.

Any thoughts on how this should be configured for first time use? I tried to reach the WIKI but I can't get to the web site. Evidently it has had some issues over the past few days.

More infomation is needed to help you. Do you have a DHCP server on your network? What OS is it (XP Pro, Windows 2000 ....)

I think the Hauppauge software provides a DHCP, when you uninstall it, it removes the DHCP as well.

The Wiki does provide a lot of information on how to set up an MVP if you do manage to get on there

If it says 'Loading Application' and never gets anywhere, that means that the MVP is not receiving the dongle.bin file that boots it - I'm guessing that since you had the Hauppauge software running you have hardbooted the MVP (pulled the power cord?)

If you are having a problem getting GBPVR to upload the dongle.bin file, you can either use the Hauppauge software to load it, then stop the services and start GBPVR, or use a third party tftp application to shove it on there.

Both these approaches are described on the wiki, but it's been running really slow of late. I'm pretty sure that I saw another member say he was able to get at it through google cache though, so may be worth a try.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I got it working but I'm not even sure how. I simply stopped the service on the Hauppauge and then started the GBPVR MVP service. The MVP didn't try to load the application or anything. It just instantly brought up the GBPVR screen. I'm afraid to reboot Smile

Now if I can just figure out how to get rid of stutter on LIVE TV on the PC itself and not on the MVP I'll be happy Smile

The stuttering on your PC would be probably be due to your decoder settings and won't have anything to do with your MVP. Check in config what decoder you are using or check which video decoder you have installed. Sometimes, there are more than one video decoder installed, just choose one that works.
