hello,

I just bought a Hauppauge PVR USB2 and this works wery well.
I selected some channels in winTV2k, and would like to display them into GB-pvr.

As I understood the doc, the config of channels needs the channem name(bbc), and the 'cource channel'. what the hell is this?
I tried many things, and I always endup with confused channels/names when looking live TV...

I'm in Belgium and have added the xmltv file
Wintv has it's own channel ID which is not editable, a channel order, and a freq value.
I tried to setup GBpvr on the channelID but this did not work. Some channels are right, others are swapped, and some are missing (invalid freq, black screen)
I tried to set the freq into the 'source channel' of GB-PVR with the resultof having only one channel running for all names.

I also tried the freqCopysoftware. But when the channels are into the registry, what I'm supposed to do??

if you can, please help...
thank you
Vincent

When GBPVR doesn't take the channels from wintv (for whatever reason) you probably best do the next:
Point gbpvr to your xmlfile, and import it(in edit capture source epg etc etc). Now you have a channellisting but not with the right frequencies. Now you can enter the frequencies for every channel in the edit channle source window. When that works you can edit the channel order in config-channel tab (not the edit channel source window!) If you don't have the frquencies you might be able to find them on the web (cable provider or whatever) otherwise you can get them by using the tuning assistant.
Most of this , if not all, you can find on the wiki, but I know in the beginning at can be confusing, don't be afraid to askSmile

Hi Htv
Thank you for your help
I removed all channels from the 'Edit recording sources' window.
Then I clicked on 'update EPG' (XMLTV)
This worked and I see all channels names.
Then I set the channel frequencies into the source channel column. These freq come from my Cable TV company, and they match the live TV auto detected freqs...

this does not help. I have shake black white missing channel for ALL channels... although I see the xmltv info when I change on the remote
So this is worse than before, when I wrote the channel numbers as channel source

any idea?

Do you have a mpeg decoder installed. You can select one (if installed) in config-playback tab

i use the USB PVR. as it is notlisted into the hardware decoderss, Ileft this on 'none'.
allo other settings are 'System default'.
The live tv works, on somechannels.I guess the channels thatdonot render correctly intothe livetv are false channels (incorrect Frqs)....
Do you know if I can see the freq currently used when playing livetv?this could help in debugging...

Sorry about the mpeg-dcoder, if wintv works and gbpvr works on some channels you have a mpeg-decoder installed.
What kind of figures did you enter in the edit-recording source-channel collum, afaik it should be figures looking like this e.g. : 216000000.

It should work if you use the frequencies that are found by the tuning assistant... You only say that you "testet to get freq", but did you also enter them in the config app for each channel? Does it work?
I'm not always right

Hello guys,

The problem is finally SOLVED!
thanks to Htv,I was mis writing the freq values as 6 digits instead of 9.
I simply add 000 at the end of all channel frequency and now it works very well.

I still need to configure my remote adn xmltv, but this should be the easy part...

Thank you formyour help, really
