I've been trawling through the Forum for information on a problem I've been having, and I found it described perfectly above.

Is there a fix for this now? Has anyone else experienced this?

i use a program called hibernate trigger to kill gbpvr on suspend and restart it on resume. works fine.
http://www.desimonesystems.com/suspendtrigger/index.php
put the command "tskill PVRX2" in a batch file (without the quotes) and call it on suspend. Put the path to pvrx2 in the resume box...

I have slow/jerky video from time to time, which I assumed (probably incorrectly) was because of Windows memory leaks. Rebooting always fixed it, although if something was being recorded at the time, one had to wait. I didn't realize that it may be suspend/PVRX2 related. I have to check if restarting PVRX2 will fix it next time it happens.

I tested mine last night and restarting pvrx2 does not fix my problem, so I'm not sure now whether the suspend/hibernate is the same as mine. I'll do some more digging soon.

compdoc Wrote:Ive been seeing this problem too. When coming out of hibernation, gb-pvr slows to a crawl. And although the machine wakes to capture shows, it doesnt always capture them, or there are oftn problems with the recordings.

A reboot fixes it. It didnt used to do this. It's always worked perfectly before. I'm using a 3500+ with an nvidia 6100/430 chipset, with built in video.

I've stopped using hibernation and went to using standby instead. Not as great for saving power, but at least it saves a little as the hard drive powers down...

Compdoc, this is slightly on a side note, but I am using standby only (S3) for two reasons: power usage is 7W in stadby vs 5W in hibernation and I can wake it up using remote from standby only.
I never had any problems with recording service after standby, slow video happens occasionally which I used to fix by reboot.

yeah, there are two types of standby - if your hardware supports it then S3 (fans off) is practically the same as hibernation, but with instant awake.
there's a command line app called dumppo that you can use to change between S2 (fans on) and S3, or I think the MCE standby tool can set it up for you.
