Whenever I try to record a currently-airing show (i.e. starting in mid-show) with the either the Advanced Web Interface or with GBPVR.exe:
- task GBPVRRecordingService.exe shoots to 100%
- the show does *not* start recording, and
- it keeps the CPU pegged until the logfile has consumed all available disk space (my last logfile hit 4GB!).

The recording also then becomes impossible to Cancel.

Restarting the Recording Service does not solve the problem if the troublesome program's time slot hasn't finished yet.

The only solution I've found is to Stop the Recording Service and wait until it would have stopped recording.

I've attached the logfiles.

Anyone else seen this? 0.97.9 / Hauppauge 500 / MS-Access

Have installed three patches:
2006.06.16.Patch GBPVRBackendCommon
2006.06.17.Patch GBPVR
2006.06.25.Patch GBPVRRecordingService

Thanks!

I edited the title above to show that it happens, not only with the Advanced Web Interface, but with:
- the Advanced Web Interface,
- the GBPVR.exe app, and
- the Media-MVP

Using any of these to record a show-in-progress causes the 100%CPU / won't record / can't cancel / logfiles forever problem.

Once the current timeslot finishes, I'll be able to start the Recording Service again and resume my testing.

Okay, further testing has revealed that *any* recordings will max-out the CPU (and not even record the show!).

This was working well until yesterday. Not sure what might have changed.

Any ideas??

In the logs it looks like you've got your capture source set to the wrong type of card. ie, a PVR500 configured as a PVR250.

How embarrasing

I had since deleted gbpvr.mdb and that had fixed the problem too (obviously, given the source of the problem).

Appreciate the quick response Graeme!
