EPG update not working but Zap2it looks OK

I just noticed I don't have anything in the guide past a couple days from now and I tried to do a manul EPG update and get an error. here is the log:

It looks like Windows is unable resolve the 'datadirect.webservices.zap2it.com' name to an IP address. This might be a problem with your DNS settings, or possibly a firewall issue.

As an MCSE once told me "The answer is DNS -- the question is irrelevant."

It was a very strange DNS problem. I have four computers all using the router for DNS which is forwarded to the ISP servers. DNS was working fine on three of them, but not on the PVR. It had been working fine with no problems and all of a sudden it decided stop working. A reboot made no difference, so I just entered the DNS servers on the PVR and all was well again.
