Hi there,
Using latest version with Hauppauge PVR350
I am able to tune to various local Radio stations FM with very good reception, but as soon as I set Playback to "Hardare Decoder device"
Hauppauge PVR 350 I cannot listen to the radio and get the following message " cannot connect to the recording service" all other functions, including Net Radio, DVD Playback work 100%
Any help would be appreciated.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

You need to install and register the LAME audio encoder from http://www.elecard.com/ftp/pub/directsho..._dshow.zip

OK, but why does it work (the radio) when software decoder is chosen for playback ? only when I Choose Hardware decoder the sound goes away ?
Lame is installed (used for Exact Audio Copy) how do I register it ?
sorry for all the stupid questionsBig Grin

This is sort of live preview for radio. It connects the radio output to speakers.

Quote:only when I Choose Hardware decoder the sound goes away ?
This is because I dropped support for the PVR350's hardware decoder long before adding this new live preview radio. The PVR350 has to do it the old way, by playing MP3 files. For the radio to record to MP3 files, it needs this LAME MP3 encoder.

This is not the same LAME. There are many incarnations of it. GB-PVR is specifically looking for a LAME directshow filter. Download the file mentioned above, save it into a directory somewhere, then run:

regsvr32 c:\the\path\to\lame.ax

Thanks Sub, but that link is dead.
will this work ?

LameDS-3.98a6
Includes batch files for Registering/Unregistering the LAME DirectShow filter.

How to install/uninstall LAME DirectShow Filter :

- To install: copy the "lame.ax" file in C:\WINDOWS\system32 and run the batch file ("RegLAME_DS.bat").
- To uninstall: just run the "UnRegLAME_DS.bat" file and remove "lame.ax" from "system32" folder.

The link you gave is working again, I downloaded, installed & the radio is now working fine.
The other downloads I mentioned did not work.
Thanks for all the help.
